As I said above. Our DE went to each classroom and talked about 5 minutes. This is what he does in all the schools in our District. Then the kids get a flyer to take home. Then we have SNFS in the school cafeteria on a different night.

Separate SM - Check Separate SPLs- Check Adult Female Leadership - Check I just want to have the committee meeting at the same time with the appropriate leaders from each Troop to save a night in the week. More and more I think we are going to have siblings in each group with adult leadership in both.

Linked Troops What are the Pros and Cons to consider? We finally were able to organize and create a Troop for Girls this year. They have met weekly since the beginning of August, maybe a bit before. Anyway, they have had one outdoor activity and we two planned campouts on the calendar coming up. So, they are doing really well. Two girls already have Scout and will have Tenderfoot after the first campout for sure. We have been invited to participate in one of the Boy Troops flag program. Just trying to coordinate information is looking like a challenge. What problems do we run into if we run Committee Mtgs for both Troops? I am not advocating both groups do all their Scout stuff together, just the adults meet for what we need to at the same time. Personally it would make my life easier. I am running out of actual days in the week to accomplish what I need to. Like 7 isnt enough, I might need 9.

1) We have one of those old marquee side of the road sign things. I had that out on the side of the road by ou Scout Hut advertising last nights meeting. 2) The DE and another District Volunteer are going in EACH classroom in the District and talking to the kids, then they send a flyer home with the information for the Scout night meeting. There is a unique QR Code on that flyer that goes directly to online registration for the Unit, just in case they cant come to the meeting in person. 3) That flyer the kids got at school, I got an electronic version I plastered on the community FB pages just in case they didnt see it. We also did a table at Meet the Teacher and got 22 interested families that night. We need to look at that list AND the families that registered last night to see how close they are.

Registered about 30. Our Pack is approaching 80 Scouts now. Just a few years ago we had 12 registered Scouts going into Scout Night at the school.

https://www.gcumm.org/news/united-methodists-urge-churches-to-delay-renewing-charters-with-boy-scout-units?fbclid=IwAR1AidxHDq3Uv-kxUEJ0T_52av-6hTNVyZHO89dyM3gmytntdAHVPvmLAlY NASHVILLE, Tenn.––Steven Scheid, director of the Office of Scouting Ministry of the General Commission on United Methodist Men, told an August 26 meeting of the Scouting Committee of the Commission, that bishops and conference chancellors are advising local churches not to renew their charters with BSA units beyond December 31, 2021. This delay gives denominational leaders time to work out an agreement with Boy Scouts of America (BSA) regarding settlements of charges of sexual misconduct.

What are your... Reports Predictions Concerns Our District has already started school talks and registered 35 Scouts and one school this week. My Unit set up tables at two elementary schools and we got about 22 interested families in signing up for Cub Scouts.... that before the kids get to see the spiel in the classroom I am optimistic we can get that many.
-
We might have had Tigers in our Pack, but I was in 3rd or 4th grade and I didnt know about it. Or probably care.
-
When I was a Cub Scout... I started as a Wolf and I am fairly certain that was THE place to start then. We had a Wolf Hat/Neckerchief, different for Bear, and then the Webelos stuff. This was 82-84 ish.

What is your name? What is your quest? What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Yeah, if it was true "physical assault" I probably would have gone to jail in my uniform.
-
We have a new CM that knows it all because, well you know. He poked my kid the other day and stated loudly, "he can't that have that patch there, you know". Its a Whittlin' Chip patch on his right pocket flap on a Webelos uniform. Maybe it can be there, maybe it cant. I have seen the arguments on that one. I DO know that the minute he poked my kid it fused that patch to the shirt more firmly that badge magic and it just wont come off now.

Chapter 11 Announced - Part 4 Revised Plan

I am just trying clarify a bit... Does this mean nothing is certain on Jan 1, 2022? 4) It has been recommended that we charter up to Dec. 31, 2021 to allow for space to work together. We will have more answers and a stronger way forward before then. Do not throw out the children in the church (Scouts), this will harm them and the church. Two deep injustices do not make justice, even for a lawyer! -
I spent 30 minutes this morning speaking with our VERY nice and VERY informed Council Advancement Chair. I am backed up at the Council level to proceed with my plan to work on the World Conservation Award with our Webelos and AOL Scouts. We are not taking anything away from requirements, we are not doing anything dangerous, and we are helping Scouts earn an extra award beyond that just for rank advancement,
-
You are assuming the right hand knows what the left hand is doing.
-
Yesterday it did. I was able to mark a requirement complete for a Webelos on Building a Better World.
-
My DE thinks I should just proceed as normal.
-
The new Guide to Advancement 2021 has a line... Adventures required for the Arrow of Light rank must wait until the Webelos rank has been earned. However, the World Conservation Award for Webelos / AOL (same requirements for both) has a Building a Better World as a requirement. Does this mean Webelos can not ear the World Conservation Award with the new rule?

Chapter 11 Announced - Part 4 Revised Plan

Its hard for me to understand camps that are "underutilized". I have to look elsewhere for camping locations because our closest camp is almost always booked up full.
