It may be July but does any one have ideas for recruitment(membership) for Venture Crews or Boy Scout Troops??? In August, I am going to help with the roundtable and the theme is Membership.
I have spoken with some from council and there idea of recrtitment is the troops get new members from the Cub Scout Pack.
I am a Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner and I thank you for your help.
It is up to the key 3 to make sure that all units have a Unit Commissioner. They have other reposonables other than finding commissioner.
They have to deal with membership, finance and program.
Unit Commissioners are appointed by the district commissioner with the approval of the council executive board.
Unit commissioners should
Have excellent people skills
Have a Scouting background or be fast-track learners
Know and practice Scouting ideals
District commissioners should
Be widely respected in the community
Be an enthusiastic leader of adults
Have the ability to recruit a complete team of
commissioners for their districts
Have the ability to guide and motivate to commissioners visit units regularly, identify unit needs, and help unit adults to meet needs
Be a role model of Scouting ideals
I am a Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner and a need some help looking the Boy Scout roundtable guide or program help. I went to scoutstuff.org and they only the Venturing Roundtable Guide or the Cub Scout Roundtable Guide.

I'd like to start a forum to share different ideas on cooking on camping trips... any special recipes or cooking methods anyone would like to share.
I would like to know if anyone in here has ever roasted a suckling pig on a camping trip. I would like to do that sometime in the near future, but I do not have much of an idea as to how it needs to be done. If anyone has any information regarding pig-roasting, or if anyone would like to share any creative meals they've cooked on a camping trip, feel free to post in this forum.
In starting a "new" unit(cub, boy, or venturing), , how important is the charter, Community Organization, and the Chartered Organization Representative.
Sounds like you have a good start. You might aask your DE or District Commissioner for the list of Cubmasters and there Committie Chairs. It may be helpfull if you have there phone numbers, mail address and email address. Also Good luck.
By the way, I am a Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner for my local District in NY state. I have been asked to to another year as Roundtable Commisioner
