Hello! I am excited to have found these forums (I've found them useful reading in the past) and look forward to participating in the conversation. I'm a lifetime Scout volunteer in the Baltimore Council, Four Rivers District and moving over to the Capital District. I started out, like many of us, volunteering as a parent when my son joined Cub Scouts. I was quickly absorbed into the training community of Scouting and Leadership positions offered. It's been 10 years of volunteering now and I'm currently fulfilling the role of Assistant Scoutmaster and Merit Badge counselor for sons' Troop, and I plan on staying well beyond when they move on with their Scouting career. I'm just now taking Wood Badge (first weekend completed, Go Sly Foxes!) and am looking forward to taking a more active role in our Troop.
