I've been to 4 "High Adventure" Seminars in the last 2 years, All turned ended up as time-share type sales pitches for philmont, $ea Base and Northern Tier. What was touted as a program to discuss options for crew adventures was nothing but how you really $hould go to the$e three, Out of the entire US of A and thats all there is?

Most Rustic scout camps in michigan have been closed in favor of those more appealing and more marketable to the masses. Platform tents are looked upon with disgust. Dining halls have replaced patrol cooking. No high adventure Costs keep going up Whats happining to the camps?

I guess I posted it to remind those that have learned "thats just how things are done" to remember that the new scout families havent learned that lesson yet.

well trained, thats what we are, why even crew members have to be trained My COR has to be trained (not ypt either) Crew members have to be trained ilsc, etc so many hoops, so many fingers in the pie, yes, some training is required, but some of it borders on sillyness, rules so vague it will take a lawsuit to straighten out. Way too many helecopters out there, you cant escape them anymore. more training, more time wasted, sorry, cant go, have training to go to. You want to do what? sorry, have to have training, Take a class on what to do if you're not trained enough. Yes, we take personal checks

2024: After Just 10 years the BSA is changing awards for venturing, "because we can't get anymore money from the venturers we have, plus it turns out nobody really liked them anyway." announced assistant vice-district excutive 2nd director key 2-1/2 co-president charged with executive recruiting Dr. Phil Morevoids. Dr. Morevoids also stated that the new awards were focus group tested at the District Awards Banquet and Its was seen that even through all the alcohol, we could still focus on them, well with one eye closed anyway, plus they're really shiny n stuff. In other BSA news, the last scout camp was sold to private investors today, leaving only national scout reservations open. "Heck, a week at a reservation is only about $2,000, if they can't afford it, they'll just have to sell more popcorn" said a local excutive.
