Tokala, According to what I have seen, the youth on the "Jamboree trek" will be lead by OA members with a Campfire program in the evening. So you know who is putting together the Campfire program? GKlose, the PM feature does not work

Whoa, I just had a shock of "cognitive dissonance", I think. Learned that term here, and I think it describes what I just felt I thought we were in the "No Child left Outdoors" generation, where people don't go into the wild, or backcountry or off road or whatever its called now as its too dity and hard and video games approximate the same experience Are we saying so many people are now in the back country to the point we need "to carry" ? What happened to the lack of people going outdoors and not wanting to get dirty, I get so confused!

I sorta agree with you CP, Life is not sacred in our society no manner the protestations to the opposite. Look at Capital Punishment, in effect the state says we hold all life to be so precious that no one can kill anyone else and if you do, we will kill you. I get a little tired about all the claims that other people don't regard human life the same way we do, well, we show little regard for it often enough that that argument rings hollow

This is an conundrum beyond my explanation. But a child conceived by rape is still a child and aborting it is murder. Yes, it is a horrible situation, but if all life is sacred, then all life is sacred no matter the manner of its origin

I guess the real question is what is being done to prevent this from happening again?

Abortion is murder, it results in the death of a human. I know I can't change minds that are set, but then again do not tell me that in our society we hold life to be sacred because we end it so indiscriminately

back when Saturday Night Live was funny, Jane Curtin and Dan Ackroyd did "Point CounterPoint" which consisted of two "Political" Commentators "debating" an issue. The part that I thought was so so so hilarious is they never did make a point about the issue, they just insulted each other. I thought it was brilliant satire on how not to conduct a political debate, I didnt think it would be seen as prescience for future political debate Jane, you magnificently ignorant.... person!

There are the 12 days of Christmas and then Epiphany, I think I could be wrong, but the reason for doing these postings was to remind that the Christmas season does not end Dec 25th, thats the start

How does it matter to you what I think? Then again I didn't think I would run out of days before I got to Ephiphany. On Jan 6th my mother would put the three wise men in the Nativity Scene under the tree and then they stayed there until the weekend or so. Friends would come over and ask wny our Christmas stuff was still out and it would be the day after Epiphany and when I would say the Magi just got here, they would look blank

When I took Wood Badge the Game of Life nearly caused a patrol to leave the course. To be done right takes skill and the group administering the course didnt have it. Then again it was the first 21rst Century Wood Badge done in the Council. Wood Badge is going to be rewritten? Does that mean I get to complain that people taking the "new" course are not getting the true "Wood Badge" experience as I was told? Or in a few years the new Wood Badgers can tell me I am not a truly Wood Badge trained as I don't have the current curriculum under my belt. Could it ever occur that volunteers stop trying to insult, belittle and other wise undermine other volunteers and truly focus on the enemy or is that wishing for too much?
