  1. Rooster, All you have proven is there is a population of obnoxious homosexuals who frequent this park. I take this no more of proof of a pattern in the entire Gay Community than I would the behavior of Ohio State University studentrs who rioted after the big win on saturday is indicative of the general conduct of all Ohio State University students, Big Ten students, or college students. Have you ever considered that serial rapists most often are men attacking women? OGE Matt 7:1-5
  2. Eisley, thank-you for your efforts. I am glad you keep us up to date on these matters. OGE Matt 7:1-5
  3. One of our Venture girls made a purse out of duct tape, quite serviceable actually
  4. Just back from Antietam National Battleground (Rooster, you have one wet state), anyway, as is our troop tradition we had a Scouts own service before we left. Held it in the Dunkards Church on the battleground. There was something about singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic in that location.
  5. I meant Zealot only in the terms of perverting a religion's tenet's. I did not mean to imclude those who passionately and complety embrace a faith and follow it with heart and soul. I apologize for my unclear message` OGE Matt 22:34-40
  6. I hate to disagree, but I must, Christianity has not had an admirable legacy of tolerance. The protestants and the catholics (both Christian) of northern Ireland have not been a model of tolerance. World War I and World War II featured Lutheran Chaplains (amoung other faiths) in both German and American armies (amoung others) If in India, christians are burned alive or beaten to death, I guess I am glad none of her neighbors figured out Mother Therese was not Hindu. The point is, I dont think tolerance is a by-product of a religions tenet's, it is the interpretation of those tenet's by the populace. Not all muslim countries beat women who flash a wrist. A lot of the Palestinian representatives I see on TV are women, and they are showing a whole heck more than a wrist. The Klu Klux Klan hold themselves out to be christian, the Spainish Inquesition was held in the name of religion. The muslims terrorists who have carried out attacks on the U.S. did it in the name of the Koran. No religion is free of zealots or those who pervert its tenets to serve an unholy purpose. OGE Matt 7:12(This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)
  7. Ah, picketing the school grounds, takes me back to me roots in the 60's. Except instead of "Heck no, we wont go" the signs will say "What the heck, let them go" or "Just say Go"(This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)
  8. Our troop has a few tents for those without. Most scouts bring their own or buddy up with another. Never have had a problem with scouts respecting tents. I agree a campsite with all the same tents looks more organized, but the motley appearance of our eceletic combination of shelter has an appeal of its own as well OGE Matt 7;1-5(This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)
  9. So why DID the chicken/Rooster cross the road? To prove to the Armadilloes it COULD be done(This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)
  10. Why not have the troop do as a group (not during a troop meeting of course, oops another thread) the Space Exploration merit badge, then on your camp out hold a moon light launch, you all get to see streaks of light in the night, the boys finish a merit badge, and its all legal (be sure to follow safety procedures)
  11. Rzarecta You may find this hard to beleive, but if you peruse past postings on this forum, you will find that I have been labeled as quite liberal. Ask anyone. But I have to answer your post about Clinton vs Bush. If genius and self-made were the only criteria for president, then Hannibal Lechter and Charles Manson should should run as shoo ins. I supported Clinton, I remember the interview in 1992 when the Clintons faced the cameras and Bill admitted he caused pain in his marriage. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Then Paula Jones came forward and I wondered where the money came to finance her. Then the whole whitewater thing. I agreed with with Hiliary on the Today show that the republicans had a huge right wing conspiraicy against him. Then came Monica and his forthright claim "I did not have sex with that woman" Then after all that, the 11th hour presidential pardons have a left a bad taste in my mouth. I liked Bill Clinton, but nothing will make me more bitter than defending with gusto someone who betrays me. So Bill Clinton may well be a self made man with a genius IQ, George W Bush may be a a man as full of foibles as anyone and a rich spoiled child, but I dont expect Dubya to put a knife in my back and twist it, Bill already has.
  12. Please see my comments under the Why you should be Glad George Bush is president thread
  13. Yoshimi, Welcome to this forum. I have to disagree with you that President Bush is carrying out a racist Xenophobic war on the Muslim world. The United States is carrying out a war on terrorism however, a war we did not start, but aim to finish. If the United States and President Bush were indeed Anti-muslim, shouldn't we be deporting muslims? At last glance no we are not. If we were carrying out a war against the Muslim world, why would we still be giving out aid to Muslim Countries. Why do Saudi's still visit us? When we were bombing Afhganistan, why did we drop culturally correct food packages as well? It is my impression, and you can correct me if i am wrong, that the reason Osama Bin-Laden carried out his aggression against the United States was because the US military presence in Saudi Arabia. Of course the reason why we were there in the first place was because we were asked by the Saudi's and the Kuwaiti's and a few other countries to please kick Iraq out of Kuwait. A country that Iraq overran. Does anyone in the Muslim world remember that? Mosques remain open in the US and Muslims are allowed to worship as they please. A freedom Christians do not always enjoy in muslim countries. I find the use of the word xenophobic interesting. The United States is a true melting pot, comprised of a myriad of cultures, ethnic groups, religions, and races. It appears that because we do not follow muslim law some misguided extremists want to eradicate us. Who is being xenophobic? Us or them? I would like to get your views on this subject, perhps thorugh dialogue, we can bridge the gap of misunderstanding that appears to be the gulf between the US and the muslim world. I do not wish to be insulting, I just want to know why we are the bad guys in this situaiton.
  14. I see it as are they tools or amusement. CD players have limited use on scouting events, if any. GPS, PDA's etc. as tools to effect a safe trip or as teaching devices, are fine. I know B-P didnt have them, but he didnt have Gore-Tex, Fleece, or polypropylene underwear either and I am not giving up mine. I see him as intelligient enough to use the availible resorces of the time, and I think he would want us to as well. OGE Matt 7:1-5
  15. i'll let you know after the tears clear from my eyes
  16. I see no problem with crediting service hours to the Chartering Organization OGE Matt 7:1-5(This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)
  17. LV, I know you are not married, at least I dont think you are. Just how do you make a living? You have way to much time on your hands... About as much as I wish I did and do what you do I will count it a success if we can get a klondike sled painted(This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)
  18. First thing first, Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie's marriage was'nt necessarily doomed by infidelity as much as the fact they are a pair of the stranger people around. Fooling around didnt help. I am not splitting hairs with you Rooster, just looking for your views. The subject of the movie "A beautiful mind", did he at all times have free will? Is there a such thing as dementia that robs one of the capcity to think rationally? Does Ronald Reagan have free will? I am not being "funny" I would like to get your view. OGE Matt 7:1-5
  19. The point is Rooster, I dont see how Children can choose evil anymore than a sheep. And for the record, no, sheep cant choose anything more than what clump of clover they plan to eat next, if that. What if the same chemicals and whatever that induced the sheep to be homosexual causes humans to be homosexual? That it is an environmental resonse to some as yet unnamed chemical? What if mixed breeding between ethnic groups causes it? OGE Matt 7;1-5
  20. (This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)
  21. Well, if children can choose evil, I dont see why sheep cant as well OGE Matt 7:1-5
  22. Actually I would like to see the poll results, I keep getting the voting screen and no results. The Eagle was awarded, to revoke it may put this story back in the public eye. The BSA made its point, it is time to move on. (and train Eagle BOR participants of proper procedure) OGE Matt 7:1-5
  23. The ability to read and write The ability to perform mathematics The ability to make fire without "civilized" acoutrement OGE Matt 7:1-5
  24. So maybe they have a big illustrated book on how to tie knots? Glad to see you are working at it, he is lucky to have such a committed mother.(This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)
