Or one vote on the EBOR? Of course there is then an appeal process. I guess the point I am pondering is who should determine if a Scout is an Eagle? The Adults or the Scouts?

A naturally formed non-BSA patrol in the making

And all those beautiful lawns are for looking at. Get off my lawn! -
I like that. Just to stir up the pot. How about adding an Eagle requirement? Maybe something like a vote of 50% of the troop?
-
Eagle should be? National Outdoor Award. Unfortunately to the lawyer and Doctor parents in my old troop meant their son was Finished with Scouts.

Just be be clear I was talking about wrapping the tube of ointment not.....

Also note sometimes even men can get a bit a yeast infection in the groin area in humid weather. A tube of generic "monostat" cream is always in my toiletries kit. Just apply at night. Wrap it in duct tape for a more manly look.

Volume, volume, volume. You haven't seen my waistline.

Congrats! Although there is no rule he learn the new requirements, as a leader of the younger Scouts who do have to pass them, he might want to learn them as he is expected to teach those skills.

Why doesn't GSUSA accept boys? Because they don't want to and boys don't want to join GSUSA (though a smart boy would consider such an endevour). The GSUSA is not banging on the doors in Irving pleading to be let in. Believe me that will never happen. Why does this topic keep coming up here and elsewhere? It is becuase BSA has done an excellent job of marketing Eagle and a crummy job on Popcorn and GSUSA has done brilliant job marketing Cookies and a crummy job on everthing else. IMO, the real reason parents want their daughters in BSA is they know GSUSA has screwed up all the other stuff. So the solution is to go lobby GSUSA to dissolve into BSA and bring their cookies with them. Without the blessing of the GSUSA the BSA is never going to start accepting girls into Cub or Boy Scouts and GSUSA is never going to give that blessing. There are some very th headed Dumasses in Irving but they aren't THAT stupid. Now if my boys could go around selling GS Cookies not only could the do HA every year they would likely be able to pay their way through college by the time they age out. $20 bags of popcorn suck.

If Mike Rowe was the MBC he would have them checking out the strata under an old kybo.

I wonder how long it will take BSA to ban kickball?

Also they were reportedly regional and Dong Dongs were called Ring Dings or something like that due to licensing issues. What I remember from the commercials was a character shooting a Ding Dong with a sling shot into the mouth of another character to shut them up. Hence why I always tried to eat them whole and also may explain my shrinking uniform. -
Need advice for aging out Eagle

Probably all the "mature" knowledge that you suddenly acquire at 18 that 15-17 year olds know nothing about. -

Does the SPL Always Lead on a Campout?
King Ding Dong replied to doakley's topic in The Patrol Method
Are you currently the Scoutmaster or about to be? The SPL is not supposed to be a member of a patrol, so what does he do on these campouts? -
Just Became New Pack Leader - Advancement Questions

I have not looked at the finished product of the new program but when looking at the final draft last year and doing some math it sure looked to me like it would take a nearly a whole 9 months at 3 den meeting per month to get through it. Wish I could be more help but my youngest just crossed over under the old program. In my opinion 3 den meetings and one pack a month is a little much for Tigers and most parents. Shouldn't be, but that's just the world we live in. Have you taken training on the new program? If not try to squeeze it in as it is usually only a couple of evenings or a Saturday. Contact your District Training Chair and talk to them and get some advise as well. Go to district round table and get there a little early, lots of people to talk to and I am sure there will be breakout sessions on implementing the new program. -
@@SSScout I have seen the same thing done with a yard stick. Emails to parents Do.Not.Work, don't even bother. As suggested you need to know something about the parents and then ask them for their help in a specific thing, in person. One dad never replied to a email, but once I talked to him and found out he was a HS chemistry teacher I asked if he could arrange to bring the den into the school lab for a the Scientist Activity. Once he said yes I had him and he pretty much took ownership of it. One mom was a nurse, asked for some help with Readyman. Once she was involved she basically took over. The point is personally ask for one small very specific thing. Once you get a Yes and the discussions begin the involvement will grow usually becuase thier pride will take over. The Nurse sees she can do much better than I can. Do Not ask a parent to take charge of an activity, it won't happen. We do not start with asking scouts to plan a Campout. Start with breakfast and then go from there. Oh, and I know am late to this party but what JasonG was probably referring to was something like this. Although I have seen it the sticks connected with masking tape as well. https://www.google.com/search?q=catapult+with+popsicle+sticks+and+rubber+bands&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari#imgrc=kzBlT0SgcFDDjM%3A

What age do camps typically start accepting CIT candidates? .

Yep it's me, back again unfortunately. :)

Doc says my A1C is a little to close for comfort so no more treats for me. Cholesterol is bad, liver enzymes not good, testosterone in the tank. Meat and veggies is all I can have for now with an occasional glass of wine. Been on the straight and narrow for about a month now. Thought I would be much grumpier. Thinking about requesting a medically induced coma for a month once December rolls around. -

We shall see, but to my understanding many of them happen at summer camp. Hehe. I suppose past observation may play a role. He makes it very clear from the git go that once those shoes hit the asphalt in the parking lot he is in charge and you are no longer Dad. I must say I was very impressed on the last outing. My oldest was sick and my crossover did not want to go and was pain the whole weekend, plopping down multiple times and refusing to budge. He let his SPL handle him the whole time and he performed admirably. Saturday night dinner I asked the SPL how he was holding up in the face of my little monster and his reply, "I've had worse" From the looks of things so far his methods are effective. -
Hopefully you were able to burn through another $300 in ammo to double your salary.

Once you hit Webelos it was the DL who signed off, no more Mom. (At least under the old program). IMO it is the SM's show and he makes those rules. If you don't like it, get him replaced or move on. In my new troop the rule is 2 ranks above to sign off. Now my "Scout that holds the rank of Star" is nowhere near the level of these other boys so I am in complete agreement with the SM that he needs to pass a retest of T and 2nd before he can touch a book. Not his fault he was in a once and done troop and most importantly he agrees he has some catching up to do.

IIRC Kudo would only camp 3 miles or so from the parking lot.
