  1. I have a nice fully embroidered Scoutmaster Emeritus arc now which you can see here - https://www.sageventure.com/store/certificates.html#SM.
  2. I have a new web page showing most of the unit numbers I've helped to design. Stop by https://www.sageventure.com/store/number.html to see the designs units have requested. Click on any small image to see the actual patch.
  3. A good number of scouters are still asking about one-piece unit numbers. I have helped many units. You can see my artwork by visiting http://www.sageventure.com/store/blanket.html and clicking on any small image.
  4. Sorry, I was thinking that it would be of center with the word Scoutmaster but that is not true if Emeritus is sewn on the opposite end (top or bottom) of Scoutmaster. Excuse me.
  5. Good idea but the stitching is not centered. That can be okay but I like things that look properly designed.
  6. I've created an Emeritus arc that can be worn below any 3" round patch. You can see the patch on http://www.sageventure.com/store/blanket.html. It is in the middle several rows down. If interested, you can find my email on the web site. I also have customized certificates that I will modify to meet any needs. That web page is http://www.sageventure.com/store/certificates.html Hope this helps.
  7. I had the question posed to me about designing a Scoutmaster Emeritus patch. My solution was to create an Emeritus arc for wearing below any three inch patch. You can see my design on http://www.sageventure.com/store/blanket.html which is in the middle several rows from the top. If you are interested, my email address is on the website and you are welcome to contact me.
  8. Stop by http://www.sageventure.com/store/blanket.html to see designs that have been created for other units. If you click on a small image you will see the finished patch.
  9. SaxTeacher, You are correct is saying uniforming is important but making scouts feel special is even more important. I was a Scoutmaster for 10 years during the 1990s. We had a special neckerchief and we wore a green beret. We always got complements and that gave our troop pride. To be honest, we were never told we were not incompliance with uniform policy. Units that want a special unit number patch are doing so because they want to show price. If you are focused on uniforming standards (which is good) but not on your scouts (which is not good) then I ask if you value your scouts? I strongly feel that doing whatever possible to create a troop with pride should be on the most important thing. And if that means being a little different, then that is what should be. Yours in Scouting, SageVenture
  10. I only design which is okay. I have asked them several times. I design as a hobby, not as a business. If I can help, I am glad to. If you want a designer that is approved by BSA, all the best.
  11. I am glad to assist anyone with the unit number design they want. You can see unit patches I've designed by visiting http://www.sageventure.com/store/blanket.html Click any small image to see my drawing and the actual patch. Of course, I am always glad to do any patch. I do this as a hobby, not as a business so prices are good and quality is great! Yours in Scouting, Craig Murray
  12. I am glad to help others with their unit number patches. You can see the patches I have done by visiting www.sageventure.com/store/blanket.html Hope this helps, Craig
  13. I want to thank everyone for the very nice comments. After a busy summer, I am again at home. I do have many of the knots and Venturing patches still available. Please contact me if you are interested. I will sell what I have but will not be having more made. All the best, Craig "SageVenture"
  14. For the last two International Conferences at Philmont, I have made special IR Trained strips for the participants. I have a few extras available for any one that would like them. Please go to http://www.sageventure.com/store/corner.html and pur your mouse over the small image to see a full size image. Hope this helps, Craig
  15. This discussion has gotten nasty along the way. It is sad that some feel that is the scouting way. I certainly don't feel that I have authority to create knots. This one knot was created because of demand and the desire to recognize others that are now in the Venturing program. Certainly if you think it is not right, don't buy any but you don't have to be nasty to the people that would like the right to recognize others in the fashion they choose. With respect to the business aspect, I do make enough to pay for my website. It costs me $70 a month. But if you have looked at my full site, you will see that I do my best to bring a lot to the scouting and venturing communities. My goal is to make sure information is shared, not to be critical of others. Take the ideas that you like and create a better program for the youth you work with. Forget the ideas you don't like but don't bash others along the way. All the best, Craig Murray http://www.sageventure.com/
