Surely he lives high off the proverbial hog, but should he stumble, the list of those who will appear with long knives gets longer and longer even as he murders 100,000s by starvation and otherwise Can't take it with you, and all that.

Religious Recognitions Created by national religious organizations to encourage the spiritual growth of youth members, religious recognition programs reinforce many of the values integral to Girl Scouting and help girls grow stronger in and learn more about their chosen faith. Each religious organization develops and administers its own program. The brochure "To Serve God" (PDF) lists the religious recognitions created by various faith groups. You can find this brochure, a video explaining religious recognition programs, and other resources for collaborating with faith communities at P.R.A.Y. Publishing. Some religious organizations are not affiliated with P.R.A.Y. or may not have a national office. To learn about their religious recognitions, contact local leaders.

What I find interesting is that neither Hitler nor Il Duce had complete power. Both had to give some decision-making power and deference to others. So the German air force had its own armored division, really double-sized, as this amused Der dicke Hermann. Most of the generals who strongly argued with Hitler were retired, not shot or even removed from the military ranks. Those thought to be involved in attempted assassination were, of course, executed - or forced to commit "suicide in Rommel's case.. Now Uncle Joe was close to the real thing. Those who were even suspected of disagreement were shot. Then we have the Supreme Nut in North Korea.

Girls of all grade levels can now earn the My Promise, My Faith pin, which complements existing religious recognitions and allows girls to further strengthen the connection between their faith and Girl Scouts. Once each year, a girl can earn the My Promise, My Faith pin by carefully examining the Girl Scout Law and tying it directly to tenets of her faith. Requirements for this pin are included in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for all levels. My Promise, My Faith Fact Sheet (PDF)

No, the topic is not covered there either. It's been decades since the last coherent description of the Patrol Method from National. The elements are still out there in BSA literature, but so are absolutely incorrect statements: [in discussing BSA "Methods"]: "Patrols are one component of what we call youth-run, or youth-led, troop."

It's fifteen minutes in Scoutmaster Position-Specific, which is itself a joke and just under eight minutes in "SCO_405 Patrol Method for Boy Scouting." So BSA pretends to train and the Scouter pretends to be trained. For crying out loud.

"And frankly, there is not much reason to pay tuition so your kids can learn the same thing in Catholic school that they would learn in public school." But some people live in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Newark, St. Louis, Jackson, Mobile, Fresno, Birmingham. Nevada . . . . So they don't learn the same thing(s).

The predominate denomination of the students at our east-side Lutheran high school is Baptist, despite which the Lutheran Church continues the subsidized operation.

The opinion asked for is based on fact we are asked to accept for purposes of advising the OP. Happens here all the time. Change the facts and you change the outcome. Felony behavior this time? Probably if jail is mandatory for a minor.

I personally have no problem with coed education, but what "overwhelming numbers" show an improvement in the quality of educational service for the respective cohorts? Overwhelming opinion is often wrong in hindsight.

Only certain forms of discrimination are socially disfavored or, under certain circumstances, illegal. BSA teaches "values," which often amounts to teaching discrimination in what company you keep. For a church to discriminate against those who support what they regard as murder is consistent with our national values, whether you would agree with that church or not. You are equally free not to associate with those persons if you find their opinion abhorrent. Freedom of religion. Freedom of speech. Freedom of Association. All that American stuff so disliked by some at Berkeley.

Any anti, or pro, source should be taken with the proverbial "grain of salt. That's why it's so tough to council on the duty and obligation of a citizen to be informed. Everywhere you go, it's spin. spin, spin. Yes. So? Religious discrimination by private parties is a necessary consequence of freedom of religion and Constitutionally protected.

GSA has no official position on abortion or planned parenthood. GSA simply supports abortion and Planned Parenthood in many other ways. And why is GSA so shy about it? Nothing wrong with having a position on one of the great social and moral issues of the time. GSA holds up Gloria Steinem (co-founder of Choice USA), Margaret Sanger, and Betty Friedan as role models. What is the message? Are their positions on abortion trivial? I would think they would proudly say no. GSA tells its members that Media Matters is the arbiter of the good and true in media. MM is anti-anti-abortion. What is the message? Anna Marie Chavez, GSA CEO from 2011-2016 https://www.philanthropy.com/article/Embattled-Girls-Scouts-CEO/236826 was an active supporter of pro-abortion rights candidates and policies . Officially, GSA has no relationship with Planned Parenthood, beyond holding up Planned Parenthood icons as models. But GSA councils have named strong supporters of Planned Parenthood as "Girls Scout Greats." Example: Leticia Van De Putte, NARAL-endorsed candidate for Lt. Governor of Texas. I submit that the position noted in the OP is not built on a lie but on disagreement with the behavior of the GSA.

Peer influence is also powerful - often more so than parental influence. Any hope of getting that outside the troop?

Life without problems would be . . . . "One could always make the case that the Pet Rock could be used as a weapon..... Just sayin'" If the Pet Rock is "flint," lots of uses, but that's the Premium Model.

Would it help make the kid a better person or a better citizen?

If they sat there you ere not following the care instructions. You were not exercising, watering, or talking to your rock. Didn't play music for it or allow it to "sun."
