It's already been done, so I don't think it's a matter of "should"

Mormons Will Re-Evaluate Relationship With Bsa
Peregrinator replied to Scouter99's topic in Issues & Politics
I saw someone post on the NCCS facebook page recently that in some heavily-Evangelical areas, Trail Life leaders are "uncomfortable" with Catholics.- 81 replies

That is not my impression (but note: I am not involved with Trail Life). Although most people leaving the BSA seem to be quitting scouting altogether -- otherwise you would see TLUSA etc. membership numbers in the 100,000s.
-
That's cute how you believe that those in power (of whatever party) have any respect for the Constitution.

Most people aren't that fertile. We have friends with 10 but most of the married folks we know have between 5 and 8.
-
We can also distinguish between public sinners (e.g. two men living together claiming to be married), and private or occult sinners (a married couple using contraception - who would know unless they make it public?). The former give scandal, the latter don't.
-
I think one can distinguish between respecting people and respecting their beliefs.
-
That's correct.

Their insurer is Catholic (Christian Brothers Services and Christian Brothers Employee Benefit Trust) too. Their insurer does not wish to provide contraceptives or sterilization either, so in order to adhere to the HHA mandate the Little Sisters of the Poor would have to find a new insurer, as well as sign a form saying that the insurer should pay for contraceptives, etc. They do not wish to do that and in fact believe in conscience that they can't.

Misrepresentation During A Board Of Review
Peregrinator replied to Jodie's topic in Open Discussion - Program
It strikes me that having an older scout show some younger boys how to tie knots is not a very good punishment. Now he'll associate mentoring with being punished. -
Young adults would have been Rovers (something else the BSA never really promoted and did away with in the 1950s).

Typical that a "Templar" would be involved.

Any self-reported numbers are going to be less than completely reliable.

BSA membership in 1990 was about 80% of what it was in 1970. By 1999 it had nearly gotten back up to 1970 levels: http://www.allcountries.org/uscensus/443_boy_scouts_and_girl_scouts_membership.html But keep in mind that there were more programs in 1999 than in 1970. In 1999 there were far fewer Cub Scouts (I'm assuming that Webelos were counted as Cubs in 1970) and fewer Scouts than in 1970 -- 1999's number includes Tiger Cubs, Venturers, and Learning for Life.
-
BSA membership is currently slightly more than half what it was in 1970.
-
Some of them don't ever see social cues, but they learn enough to be able to act as though they do.
-
Oh, of course it would never be ratified. Once people have a taste of the crack cocaine of democracy they never want to give it up. Nowadays elites rule by limiting the range of acceptable choices for which the common folk can vote.

Repealing the 17th Amendment is an excellent idea. Though I admit that I am not a huge fan of Scalia myself as he's a legal positivist.

Right, it seems to me that BDPT00 was pointing out that only one "side" is ever asked to compromise. But the ability to compromise is not a feature of leadership. It's more of a bug.

I've read his comments a couple times now and it doesn't seem to me that he views compromise as a positive feature of leadership.

When did the ability to compromise become a feature of leadership?

That's an interesting statistic, where did you get it from?
