  1. I attended this camp as a scout starting in the early 90s. It was created in 1947 for Troop 29 of Sacramento, CA and was originally called Camp Harry B. Ogle, after its founder, an energetic Scout Executive in the area. Local scouts have been enjoying going to this special place every year since its creation. Camp O-Ki-Hi is not a BSA council camp, but is owned and operated by 4 Sacramento area troops and their volunteers. Each "owner troop" invites several "guest troops" to join them for an exciting summer camp experience. As a result, every camp session is a bit different. Since the beginning, Camp O-Ki-Hi has been run by a 100% volunteer workforce. Camp usually fills up from word of mouth alone. If you are from a troop in the Sacramento or surrounding areas and you would like to get more information on this truly unique summer camp, please visit their new website: www.campokihi.org. Its still under development, but there is a cool video you can watch to get an idea of what they offer. You can also send them an email: info@campokihi.org. Sorry for the sales pitch, but I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this camp. If you ever get the opportunity to go, consider yourself one of the lucky few.
