I can't believe they may close Treasure Island..... I know it's not the best camp, but it's like one of most talked about summer camp! Maybe they should have a really big fundraiser to spruce up the facility? And maybe the OA could help out, knowing it's their founding place.

I would have loved to see a nice cargo/millitary vest for the outdoors. You know, the waterproof ones with all the pockets? Those are very comfortable and are vary orginized. With the new uniform, I think the hat should have been a little more airy. My troop has it's own hat, so its find. I also think that swithback pants are not good enough for formal events. I can just imagine a COH and all you hear is ZZZIIIIPPPPP...... ZZZIIIIIPPP....

At my troop, we have one basic rule: If its electronic LEAVE IT IN THE CAR! After the rule came into being, our troop managed to find some cellphones in a boys pockect ringing,, and it was conficscated and returned after camp. This helps scouts realize that they could have just as much fun without games. The only time we are allowed electronics is in the cars.

My troop has recently spirled down to the path of dwindling numbers. The troop is down to around 15 boys. Unfortunitly, around 4 boys are about to turn 18, and we just lost 3 boys to sports. Our troop is a well run troop, but we (as a troop) believe we could do better. Our troop has desided to try to recruit some more boys, but hasn't the slightest idea how. We realize troops could be pretty small, but we would perfer a larger cast of characters. Know any ways to gain more scouts?

Thanks. The campout just ended, and I desided to help the QM. Of course, he ended up showing up after the work was done, but it doesn't matter. We ended up having a fun campout and enjoyed it. I desided just to let the whole thing blow over. Once next elections arrive, I'll know what to do. Thank you all, Padilan PS. Did you havana to get int all that ad homien stuff? In my troop, we don't wers hats in church (that's were we have our COH). If We have them on, we need to do push-ups.

As a response to BW, i am a former PL.

Well, two weeks ago my troop had POR elections. I myself ran for Quarter Master. However, I am not of a stocky, or even medium build. The boy against me was a boy who joined the troop weo months ago, only went to one campout, and his speech was "Vote for me 'cause I'm taller then Andrew." Long story short, I lost. This campout, he said he and his assistent will be late to the camperee. So who did he ask to fill in? ME! I don't know if I should take it or let everyone suffer due to his tardyness. Recently elected PL hasn;t been to the last THREE campouts. He's been in the troop for four months. Our troop is very small, (16 kids, 8 Active) so the choices are small. I have no idea what to do. Please help!
