  1. I'll be in Milton Keynes,UK for two weeks. I have about 1000 patches to trade. What else do I need.(I'll have my colmans mustard in tubes) to cover any food questions.I'll be going ona campout with the district there,& possibly to Baden Powell house. I heard Gilwell is not really worth the time, but I'm open to any suggestions on places to see. Thanks
  2. My suggestion would be to talk to your District Commissioner, if your not happy with your Unit Commissioner. Some Unit Commissioners dont really have a clue of what to do,but are more than willing to be there for you. Give a little guidance, a little patience, dont treat them like they are the enemy if you dont know them. Tell em what you need, good & bad. You'll have a friend for life. A District Commissioner
  3. WD-40 & a butter knife gets off the residue. If it's a rush, I put it on with badge magic, then sew it on later. Great placementproduct. Get it set, where you want it,then sew it later, when you have time. (for me,it's about two months later). Good product for me!!
  4. You made a difference in this boys short life. My prayers are with you as well as his family.
  5. Drain fuel,or take off bottle. Open all valves, & blast with air. If you dont have a compressor handy,go to your local store& buy a can of air(used for blowing off computer keyboards). Check the end ports for clogs, fill it up,& fire it up.

  7. To remove, peel off patch, & then spray with WD40. Then just use a butter knife to scrape & peel off.
  8. I have too do a FOS presentation. What are some things that YOU think I should touch on. With the donations to the Hurricanes,Earthquakes, fuel prices, etc. It is getting to be a touchy subject for donations.
  9. Green sm, I put in 2-4 hours a day working on commissioner stuff. I log 100-200 miles per week. I have 49 packs, crews & troops. I live in a rural area> I do it because I enjoy it. To help "green SM"s & to help boys & adults all over my district. Some of you feel you dont need a U.C. or have never heard of one. CALL YOUR COUNCIL & request one. We're not here to show off, to fight,or to bicker about who is more important, but to help. Craig District Commissioner Assistant Scoutmaster Tiger Cub Den Leader Proud to have been a former Unit Commissioner
  10. hurricanehousing.org or moveon.org. I put my house on these sites to take in 4-5 people. Shelters are fine for now,but how long will they want to stay in an auditorium?
  11. Wsn't "scoutldrs" post 2 days before the hurricane. Get some sleep, knottyfox, then let us know where we can help. I put my house on a website to take in 4-5 family members 99.9% of us want to help, tell us when & where.
  12. In Nebraska it is 3.69. I drive a 2003 F-250. But I have a 2 block commute to my 2000 Peterbilt. In Missouri,2 truck stops were out of fuel, with lines at the third. Stock up on everything you can, because the smaller, independent truckers cant afford this,& those who will survive will have to pass the surcharge on to you. When I fill up,it's $500.00,& it's every two days. I'm also supposed to drive a troop bus from Lincoln to Abiline,Ks. When do we implement the cost to the kids?
  13. This guy is certainly not new to the program. He is currently our camping chair,S.M. U.C. etc. He has a Masters degree, but just doesnt seem like "Professional Scouter" material. What I mean is,He's not a kiss_ _ _. When he does something it is usually the right way, with a lot of heart. That's what worries me. I think he would make an excellent D.E. but can a council take someone with an I.Q, & not looking for another patch.
  14. I'll have an opportunity to interview a new District Executive. I am a new District Commissioner. What are some questions you think would be appropriate for a new hire?
  15. It is up to the charter representative, the your Scout Executive. I didnt put it on my application, was called by the executive,on it. I explained that it was 18 years ago, I was 17 at the time & a felony by 18 dollars. I explained this to the charter rep, & was approved.
