well per the guy interviewed in the video they can regulate some of the local stuff you are listing.. They could make you have a seprate ballot with just the President & congress election on it (don't know if then you could give out two ballots on the same day, or would have to hold you local election and votes on changes to the constitution seprately.. He says they could regulate the machines you use.. Congress can set up a non-partisan agency to administer our elections.. Sounds to me like if states don't play fair, they could have these elections really regulated.. Personally, I could see something that penalizes and puts states under something like the non-partisan agency that administers their election IF.. they abuse the freedom to set up their own elections fairly.. Where they would then loose the priviledge to run their own elections for at least 10 years.. If States are doing a good job of administering their elections, I don't seen why they should have this taken away from them.. But, I doubt anything will be passed through the Republicans, they keep denying that they are doing anything wrong.. Why would they set up laws that would regulate their own corruption?

Word is the millionaires & Billionaires are not happy with the results for their rate of investment.. If that doesn't tell you it was not just a donation to a campaign but they were trying to buy the country, I don't know what will. Don't say "xenophobic,old, wealthy, Protestant white men".. if it's evengelical then say "xenophobic,old, wealthy, evengelical white men", But since there is a mix of some Catholics (like Paul Ryan), and I know there are other conservative religions sprinkled in, I think better would be"xenophobic,old, wealthy, Religious zealot white men".. The protestants, have many denominations and alot are very, very liberal.. To add to scouting agains list.. The best I heard was someone saying that for Republicans to come back, they have to stop running a campaign based on projecting a fear of the future.. Also alot on scoutingagains' list can be summed up by stating they need to understand they can not legislate THEIR religious beliefs to enforce that everyone must follow a religion they do not subscribe to, rather then their own religious beliefs (or non-beliefs). I believe that is part of the Constitutions first admendment.. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...." About what Congress can do to change your election system.. Sorry, what is said is they can set the rules for "congressional" elections, but they can't set the rules for local election.. My condolences, Tampa Turtle.. Sad that your Governor Election was not at the same time as the Presidential election and you could have voted that guy out in the same election.. Sounds like you have another nasty election to suffer through as he tries to rig his own election to his favor.. I guess Congress can regulate the Presidential Election, but not the local elections.. So without those two tied together, even if some regulation can get through congress (which would mean republican house majority approval).. If you dont get a Democratic local government, you will have this sort of tampering continue.. Not only got the forward thinking President, but also in my state got a heavily Democratic State Government for Governor, and 2 house seats. We didn't vote for 2 senate seats this time. One of them is Republican the other Democratic.. But!! Interestingly all women in all of these positions. So our upper Government will now be all female.. All I am hoping is it sends a strong message to Republicans, that they have to figure out a political platform that can attract people in todays world.. They also have to understand that finding compromise to get some, but not all that they want while moving the country forward would help their party in being sustainable in the future, where as rejecting everything unless they get it 100% there way will be neither good for their party or the country. And Yes, I understand reaching a compromise does not mean democrats get it 100% their way either.. I know Joe Biden in an interview feels that they have figured out about a dozen from senate, and about 2 & a half from Congress, who have said that if Obama was re-elected, it would be a "get out of jail free card" on the pact they made, because it was in order to make Obama a 1 term President.. If it failed they would be free to work with Democrats to find solutions.. A lot of Republicans on discussion panels today, seemed to be holding out the olive branch of peace, lets hope its sincere.. Democrats of course said similar things.. Joe Bidden in an interview about a day before the election said they had found Republicans that said if Obama was re-elected, they would work for compromise, wouldnt name them, but said there was about a dozen in senate and about 2 in the house.. Not Mitch McConnell though, at least last night who tweeted out a pretty sour grapes, but now the President needs to meet our demands message.. Let's hope for the good of your party, other more reasonable party members will talk him in off the ledge. That is all I could wish for.. Don't play games that put your party ambitions above the needs of the people you are suppose to be representing.. Oh yes, one other thing.. Something to reform states being able to make up rules to suppress the votes of those who don't hold their political views.. Florida is the worst with such a mess it still cant be called, but Ohio and Pennsylvania also fell into the expected Hall of Shame.. Didnt do any good except get people mad, and gave them incentive to get out to vote, and stand in those 6 to 8 hour long lanes, and be alert and wise to the other con games, prepared with a toolkit of know how to take action against it. But, it shouldnt be so hard, for anyone.. I like that in Obama's victory speech, he thanked those who stood in lines for long hours.. Then he said, "We need to fix that"..

To me : uninformed is not knowing if a canidate supports your views or not, and perhaps not even caring to take the time to find out. misinformed is a person who belives lies from ads, emails or other people as to where a canidate stood on an issue. Even if they acted upon this misinformation without thinking to double check the information.. (Well maybe that would be a mix of misinformed & uninformed) Unintelligent is spending your time campaigning for -or- against a person, about a particular issue, when you don't know what their stance is on the issue. Be your information correct or incorrect.. Activating yourself to do something about a subject you know nothing about.. It has nothing to do with if you are for or against gun control. That was just the subject of this video.. This could easily be an example of being against someone due to their views on the Easter Bunny, when you don't have a clue what the person thinks about the Easter Bunny. If that group of people (there were at least 10 or more) standing on the roadside, when asked said the guy voted for a bill that outlawed a certain type of gun, or made it harder to buy a gun, and the canidate did no such thing.. That would be misinformed.. But with 10 or more people standing there with signs condemning someone for being against gun control, and the best answer from all of them as to what this guy did to get them angry is "I don't know".. The story broke on Monday Sept 15th on the Racheal Maddow Show.. Romney's interview was on the evening of Sept 17th.. 2 full days since the story broke.. Again another mis-truth on FOX's part. But, you could be right. Although most news stations assign their serious reporters to cover an important breaking News show.. I don't follow FOX enough to week out whose who.. So who reported that President Obama didn't allude to the Libya attack as being terrorist related until 14 days later?.. I discussed this on a different thread, as I was confused with why conservatives thought this, as I had read news articles that stated the White house said it was related to terrorist attacks within 24 hours.. I had heard it mentioned several times. They did have it wrong though that the protests were still happening at the same time as when the cars came in with the terrorists.. Even saw a news show that walked us through where the cars stopped, how they entered, what the hit first, second, third.. This was probably 2 to 4 days after the attack.. I didn't remember the actual comment by the President in the Rose Garden, but knew what he said did not make me question conflicting information.. I also had to argue with someone as they thought the UN speech Obama gave still was saying the attack was by protesters, even after conservative news finally caught up with the rest of us on the facts.. I had to transcribe the text to show that although Obama talked about the protesters and talked about the attacks to Libya, where in totally two seprate unrelated areas of the speech.. (Page 9 of Political trends). Anyway, I will not take the time to figure out who are you hosts for hardnews, and who are the commentary news hosts on FOX.. Just that whoever on there has such a bad, bad, very bad reputation of giving out false news, is bringing down the whole reputation of the entire station.. That's it for me on this subject.. I havent seen the video about which Governor Romney is speaking other than the quotes are that apparently he said among other things is that the Obama supporters are dependent on the government and he called this quick press conference and your thoughts? Anyway, more to the point, I want to bring you back around to your original question. Can someone please point to something given as hard news (as opposed to commentators or analysts) on Fox News that has turned out to be false? This is not meant to be a snarky question. Bottom line, from all your subsequent posts, I think, yeah you did ask it to be snarky.. Defiantly asked it while being closed minded and argumentative to you point of view.. So again, I say. If you think you are getting news from other sources (which I doubt are any less conservative in view) then fine.. But, you asked, and I have given you my viewpoint, and I don't see why I am now in an arguement over it with you, if you were being open minded to other peoples opinions, when you asked the question.

Problem is, MSNBC does no hard news.. Only commentary shows.. So it does not matter if the tapes on Obama were discussed in a hard news slot or not.. Well if in a hard news slot, I guess that would make them worse, but MSNBC is incapable of rising to that same degree of injustice, because it doesn't do hard news.. I saw it last night, can't refind the link.. But, It was Breaking News of Mitt Romney as he spoke, then afterward.. The FOX news anchors are saying "What tape? Didn't know anything about a tape.." In which case, they had spent two days in a cave.. The other ones even if only commentaries, then those tapes clipped, playing only a small section of them, then filling in the meaning for you (when the full playing of the tape would give you a different perspective).. Is either on equal grounds or worse then MSNBC, tape of Travon Martin.. My guess, if it was Travon Martin, most likely it was done on Rev Al Sharptons show.. He is my least favorite, and very much wrapped elbow deep into that news event.

Everything said on this subject pretty much confirms my thinking in the beginning. Dislike of Fox is based simply on political perspective, as is my admitted dislike of MSNBC. However, MSNBC has given out information that is provably false. MSNBC edited the tapes of George Zimmerman's 911 call in such a way that it appeared he was after Martin because he was black. The full transcript showed he was answering a direct question when he first said anything about race. They later changed the story, but never admitted their bias. That was covered as hard news. Very similar, would be the partial release tape of Obama talking about 14 years back when he said he believed in Redistribution. FOX did a short clip, but the full tape is an analysis by Obama about the good and the bad of Redistribution, and trying to open a discussion on how to not be wasteful. Also the tape on the "Guns and Bibles" was a clipped tape.. It took out the parts where Obama was talking about how he would be working to go to these people and see if he could change their minds, which was different then the Romney 47% comment where he said he didnt have to worry about them as they will never take responsibility for their lives. I also heard, FOX did not report on the 47% comments, then when Romney was going to do a press conference about it, they had to pretend no fore knowledge of the tape, though it was BIG NEWS in all the other news media.. Probably more your commentary pieces.. But, the recent conspiracy theorys about the polls and trying unskew them was laughable.. Also the new conspiracy theory about the jobless rate going to 7.8%.. MSNBC may not be perfect either, but I am at least am comfortable with the mixed panel approach. There are also some magazines and newspapers who try to bridge the bias by giving equal opportunity on bias stories from each camp.. I guess they either employ both liberal and conservative reporters and let them write differing stories or buy different stories from independent contractors or something.. Hey, if you think you are sufficiently getting your news from other sources to fix the FOX bias, then be happy with that. But, FOX alone will not give you the full picture.

I agree, which is why I will watch Meet the Press and Morning Joe, (also MSNBC), but the Republicans guest on the show can make me cringe.. Meet the Press will have one on one interviews with Republicans as well as Democrats, and their mixed panel will give you a good perspective of both sides.. Morning Joe, normally has a good mixed panel, but some days it can lean more Democrat or lean more Republican.. They had about 3 days straight of only Republicans, and I was about to give up on the show, then they started to mix the panel up again.. You can only yell at your screen so much when something is said you disagree with because you know the other side of the story already, but there is no one on the panel to challenge it.. If those two being my anchor are not good enough. I also get the state newspaper I read is slanted Republican though, so that is my FOX equal.. For example, after the Libya attack the paper wrote an article saying Obama's speech in the Rose Garden was awful and why.. (I saw nothing wrong with it..) But, they never said a peep about Romney totally idotic statements the night of the attack, before all the information was in.. You asked,if FOX's new is accurate.. Answer is "NO", maybe not because they are telling out & out lies (we are still talking straight news here, not the ones who give commenteries, because there you do have lies).. But, is some respects omittence of information they don't want to tell you is just as bad as a lie. Same if you are sticking with only conservative information news sources on the internet.. I know I can not take a conservative news media, I assume you would be the same tuning into a liberal news media like MSNBC after being feed a diet of FOX.. All I am suggesting is if you TRUELY want to have the full story on a subject, you have to go someplace that will put a mixed panel together to discuss the subject. Then you can root for your conservatives when they swing a verbal punch, BUT, you will have HEARD the other side of the argument.

Kahuna - Watching only FOX news is like have two children and only listening to one of them when they get in a tussle, or something gets broken.. FOX is slanted to tell you only the info that makes the Republican side of the story.. Their opinions are definately slanted that way. As long as we are staying away from the commentators and just discuss hard news.. What they will do NOT tell you something that looks bad for their conservative party, but over highlight everything that they think is wrong with the opposition.. Maybe not false, but not giving you a true picture to make an informed decision on either. Then add to that the commentaries.. I would advise you to look for a program that brings both republicans and democrats to the table to have both give their side of the story.. I am basically Liberal, so I go for MSNBC.. But.. Morning Joe - has two main hosts one is Republican, one is Democrat.. The Republican host is more verbally verbose.. So it may not be too hard on your Republican senses.. But weekly they invite guests from both Democrat & Republican parties to discuss the issues and you get both viewpoints. It is on MSNBC which is basically a Liberal station, but Morning Joe is their nudge to playing fair. Guests on the show have asked Joe how he sold the station on letting him have his show since he is not a liberal. The other one I watch is a Sunday show.. "Meet the Press".. Again a show that will bring both sides to the table to discuss the issues..

The problem with Acorn, is that Acorn is the one who blew the whistle on themselves, they double checked their own registrations, and reported the discrepancies themselves.. If their internal checks are finding and reporting the inconsistencies, there is more of a belief that the agency itself is not behind the fraud, but it is the individual employees. ACORN's 2008 situation revealed problems not unusual to mass voter-registration drives. First, hundreds of thousands of voter-registration forms turned out to be duplicates; the voters were already registered and for whatever reasonlikely because they weren't surefilled out a form anyway. That lead to hundreds of thousands of forms being rejected. Meanwhile, some paid canvassers faked voter-registration forms, filling them out for Mickey Mouse or John Smith. ACORN's organizers flagged problematic ballots and turned information over to the authorities. In the end, several employees were charged with forgery. But there was no evidence that ACORN was trying to influence the outcome of an election, nor would any of these incidents result in voter fraud. Even if Mickey Mouse was registered to vote, it hardly means Mickey Mouse could cast a ballot. The canvassers were trying to make an easy buck. This is unlike the current situation.. Strategic Allied Consulting that when questioned threw out a comment, it was only one person!.. Then hoped that that would stop the investigation. The agency that did not do any internal checking, and then tried to do a quick cover-up when questions were raised, rather than taking the matter seriously. So Republicans were horrified over ACORN who was doing internal checks and self-reporting inconsistencies.. Where is their equal horror over Strategic Allied Consulting irregularities and additionally their cover-up about it? Total Silence.. Probably because they are running away as fast as they can hoping people forget they not only hired them, but hired them KNOWING they had a history for this, and their solution was that they change their company name to avoid suspicion from their past history. --------. OK.. So vol_scouter you are now backing off your charges that you have current proof of Democrats blocking the votes of African Americans and are trying to argue that because 50 years ago Democratic party was corrupt. But you started that paragraph with the following Not a story and not a long time ago but going on at least in the last national election. Then in this paragraph you state this as one of the things that prove it is going on today.. I was not arguing about your family story of the dead man voting as being impossible this day in age.. All I have argued on that is if it is true, then call the FBI. In which case, you went into this ridiculous story of scary Democrats suppressing black peoples, and being members of the KKK.. This is what I said was impossible for this day and age.. But, you insisted! Proof for you is all stuff that happened 50 years back in your state, and you reported it as proof that is why Democrats are scary corrupt people today. So your family is frightened of Democratic retribution, based on the fact the party was corrupt 50 years ago.. Well, tell them have no fear.. Democrats have changed, and they cannot come out from under the rock from which they hide, and report voter fraud to the FBI.. Here is another example of the change of the Democratic party on their positions.. Pre-JFK, the Southern states leaned Democrat, Northern states leaned Republican. Now, it is totally flip-flopped, Southern states now lean Republican and Northern states lean Democrat.. It shows that when the views of the parties changed, so did the people who supported those parties.

There have been several high ranking democrats that were caught by the FBI in west Tennessee that went to prison for various political crimes and a few republicans. This then should make it easy on you. Stop harping on the two Black Panther guys (who were in Philadelphia PA, not Tennessee) and who were not charged due to lack of evidence, because they only looked intimidating but didn't do or say anything to anyone.. Also stop gripping about people and actions from the 1950's.. You should have some news articles on these, since they were charged and imprisoned.. But, they need to be about voter suppression or election Fraud and the crime needs to be from recent elections.. Also I would be interested in some articles on Democrats suppressing the votes of blacks.. Reporters would find this newsworthy as it is out of step with reality, especially media with Republican leanings.. I mean look at how much they bemoan two intimidating looking guys quietly standing around the Polling place. They would gobble your story up. I will be quick to admit I am wrong and you truely live in a topsy turvey world if you have that type of proof.

Well if the KKK is still in the Democratic party in the Memphis Tennessee area, Memphis Tennessee is in some kind of a time warp for about 50 years and missed the whole JFK era. That was when the Democratic party started to shift (JFK's shift may have lead to his assassination.).. But, since then the Democratic Party has come to embrace these views for not only, blacks but for many more groups, they have became the inclusive party.. Because they had no place else to go, the Republican party then became the one to house anyone with prejudices against another group of people. So again, I say to you your Tennessee story does not hold water, unless of course you are retelling a story that was told to you 50 years ago.. Or, perhaps told to you from an older relative, one that is living in their past. If it is a story from 50 years back, well then it fits in very well and makes sense. At that time Democrats were very strong in the South, and I could see Democrats at that time doing as you say.. It was the time KKK was in the Democratic party.. Jim Crowe laws were enacted by the Democratic party, etc, etc, etc.. But, today? Someone has to be totally out of touch with reality to be a member of the KKK and considers himself a Democrat. You're correct, I did mis-speak. I had thought that 2 registration purges one in Florida & one in Ohio was under investigation.. But Floridas is filed by the DOJ and now I cant find what I read about the Ohio one. There is one other you forgot though that is also in Florida about Congressman Rivira. But about Strategic Allied Consulting.. I know you love the only one employee involved story, but that has long been debunked. In Florida alone there is now cases of registration irregularities by multi employees working for this agency that span over 9 counties. The company was also doing work in other States, Virginia, Colorado, North Carolina and Nevada.. These are also showing questionable registrations. Also in Colorado there is a tape out of a girl who is trying to register new voters. She says she works for the County clerks office, but investigations found her to be with this company. (If registering, by law you have to register anyone regardless of party, and have to file all of them, not shred the party you don't like.) And although the RNC ran for the hills quickly, they still may be pulled in as Sproul (the founder and head of this company) is pointing the finger and squawking. They hired him knowing his past brushes with voter fraud complaints and suspicions, and simply asked him to change the name of his company to avoid suspicion.(This message has been edited by moosetracker)

WAKWIB - you still have my high esteem, because that is the only response I was seeking from the others, and got nothing but we are justified.. As for the laundry list on both sides, on the Republican side, all they had was one family rumor fairy tale, and an one guy working on his own in the last election with something that the Republicans have trained over a million people to be posted at every voting poll to do.. And all I have to say for the fairy tale and the one guy is that if true it should be investigated by the FBI. I guess they investigated the Black Panther guy and found he didn't do enough for prosecution. Vol_scouters family will need to call in their fairy tale and find out if the FBI will even take them seriously, about the Democrats suppress vote of African Americans in Republican country. Before they do though, they should be forewarned they also prosecute for false reporting. FBI is getting involved in alot of the Republican stuff already this year. Thanks Beavah, You are right that their examples are not anywhere close to being able to label any of their examples with proof of the whole party being in on well coordinated efforts to steal the election.. Also that is the type of caliber example I was trying to task them with, and instead got these piddly examples and what seems to be a family fairytale someone is swallowing, and still if remotle possible would be some local offical.. But, I kindof worded my challenge slightly wrong, and am getting what I deserve.. I stated.. I am not saying they must be lily white. It is politics after all.. But, accept keeping blacks from voting, there has never been this sort of "In your face" cheating going on. Some of the behind the scenes cheating is now coming to light, and it just makes you wonder how bold they will be with their clandestine cheating. Here is the difference. If any cheating from the Democrats do come to light, I will say it is wrong for them to be doing it. It will not make me change who I vote for, as then we would have proof both are playing games. Still two wrongs would not make a right, so it would be wrong. I should have said in the second paragraph .. If any "in your face" cheating.. maybe.. But, even if it is small local, one man cheating on the Democratic side, it would be wrong of that individual.. I am willing to say that, and believe it to be true. It seems they are incapable of saying the same for their side where it is grand scale, multi-tactic well coordinated moves that they don't even try to hide. They feel they are justified to cheat and steal from many deserving people their most basic and fundamental right that we are given under the Consitiution due to the crime that they have the audacity to disagree with them. I believe their actions alone is proof that this attitude is not the attitude of only a group of Republicans at the top, but the attitude of the party base, at least everyone who belongs to the tea-party section of the party.. I still will cling to my belief that there are a few Republicans out there that are honorable. We at least have WAKWIB showing honor, but it seems the majority of Republicans in our sampling on this forum, have forgotten what the word means.(This message has been edited by moosetracker)

Ah.. I just thought WH meant Obama specific. I forgot that after appointment, you guys think the President is suppose to tell everyone every little detail of what they are suppose to do every day, and micromanage every breath they take.. Because the President does not hire anyone and then trust them to do their job, and he has nothing better to do with his time.

vol_scouter - your story gets more & more unbelievable. But, again if you can PROVE dead men voting Democrat go to the FBI. makes no sense Democrats keeping black people from voting.. African Americans are totally Democrat voter, except a few stragglers, Republicans poll at 0% black vote, so very low.. But, you are saying your area is highly Democrat in a Red State, yet in this area the Democrats find the African American vote as being highly Republican so they are being suppressed by the Democrats.. Which if this got out, would hurt the Democrats with all African Americans nationally... You my friend live in a topsy turvy world.. Sounds more like Republican tricks that they are blaming on the Democrats, but it doesn't hold up as logical.

It would take alot of dead democrats to turn Tennessee blue.. And your elected government officials (who would oversee the voter registration) are republicans.. Why are they not overseeing the registers and cleaning them up? 2) If you have proof they are used for voting. Call the FBI.. It's a federal offense. Why has your family not done so? 3) With all these Voter ID laws and court battles against them, the republicans are charged with providing proof of the need for them, they can't find any except a few states that don't give someone recently released from prison their voter rights, and the ex-con tries voting without knowledge they do not have that right back.. Why is your family or the state of Tennessee not being good Republicans and helping out with the needed proof, they so desperately looking for.. Somehow this "My family has a story", still is not the sort of "In your face" proof that Democratic party is as dirty as the Republican party.. Doesn't meet the smell test.. But, if it is done, it would be wrong, besides a total waste of time in trying to rig elections in being ludicrous to do so in a totally red state.. Your right OGE, the more I read these threads, the closer I come to becoming Democratic, because I see it will be a L-O-N-G time for your party to ever come back to sanity. The late closing in black or poor districts is to the game playing. You can not shut the door on people because time is up, but must allow everyone in the voting line to vote. If you play games of limiting early voting and having not enough booths for the amount of people voting in the district, in order to create the 4 to 8 hour long lines, you might succeed in discouraging people to vote, but you can not close the door until the 4 to 8 hour backup is finished. Don't play the games, you wont get the waiting line. Eagle732 - Nice story, those are coming in, in alot of states problem is, when checked the people listed are perfectly alive.. It is also being used to harrass people with having to prove citizenship.. So far the Republicans are simply making more work for those who have other work to prepare for the elections, because they have to check it out, but it is total bunk, or a sprinkling of recent deaths.. People are not removed because some lunetic sends stuff in, but the accusations forces the need to check them out causing these people to be over-taxed. Instead when the cheating of your party is blatantly obvious you feel perfectly justified because it may have been done in 1960, by the democrats.. And maybe somewhere the Democrats might be doing something, somewhere.
