When my son ranked as a tiger and he told me he wanted to contuine with all his friends i decided I would join as a committee memeber. when the cubmaster begged someone to take over as cubmaster or the pack would probably fold i stepped up to save the pack. Since I have done this I have meet new friends and so has my son. so it has been a win win situation and I am learning as much as he is. melissa

I would love to see if I can get my dens interested. I would also like to get a post card mailing started from all the different cities and states for our Blue and gold Banquet for 2009. I think this would such a great learning experience for our scouts and also it could work towards communcation and collecting b/l and pin.

Hi. I am the CM for the pack my son is. I have never felt like a MC. Actuully the CC gives me a lot of responiblity but would never think of doing anything if I did not have the total backing fron the CC and comittee. The CC and committee are responsible to make sure the pack is running on the business side. The CM makes sure the dens are given the oppurnity to advance. My son is going to be a Webelos 1 in a couple of days and I noticed that the 12 bears was to much and with the complete backing from the cc and commitee I let the parents and the leaders know that we will be spliting the den into 2. For a few differnet reasons 1) it is to big; 2) the badges that we will be working on are more intense and we will be having to do more field trips. We have 2 schools feeding into our den but we did not split them by schools we split them by personaility. It was by who can work toghter. It is all about commuication. another thing i have a boy that his parents came to me to ask if he could join but he lives in another city close by. I welcomed the whole family. It is not my decision who joins. If the boy wants to be in scouts i am not going to turn them away. If the parents want to drive more power to them, He has been with us for 3 months now and he has never missed a meeting or a field trip. If my thoughts Melissa

Hi. I am the cubmaster for out pack. The CC rather me set up the agenda up for all committee meetings but I never put anything in motion unless I have cleared it with the committee first. I work very close with the CC so our pack runs smooth. If you take over as CC make sure you can work with the CM it helps the pack run more smoothly. The only thing I do not have to run by the committe is how I set up the Pack Meeting which I still let them know what I am planning and get feed back. If they disagree I will take it under advisement and decided to accept the decision or not. Again if the CM can not work well with the comittee then the pack can not run smoothly and then it hurts the boys. Just my thoughts, Melissa

Thanks for all the replys. I have never seen them at the scout shop. I will ask our shop and uc to see if this is a program that is already in place and if not maybe we could adopt it. I think this would be something nice to be a able to give to the boys that are particaptinb. Melissa

HI. I became CM this year and I was going thru a box that I was given and there were segments in there. I can not find any info on them. How do you earn them and are they for Cubscouts or Boy Scouts? Any help would be appericated. Melissa
