  1. I need to clear up a few items....My Scoutmaster is capable and very dedicated to the Troop. He fights the fights that he know he can win.
  2. This Thread is getting out of hand and I apologize. My plan is as followed. 1st. Talk to my Troop Committee and see if they want to pursue a formal complaint. If yes and we do put it in writing and then 2nd....Approach the Charter Organization Rep and discuss what needs to get done.
  3. I hold Asst. Scoutmaster position. I also am in charge of filling out Tour Permits, Rechartering, Transitioning Webelos. I am very active. BP... come to one of his training sessions or council meetings and listen to his demeanor. You will understand.... In round-up kick off party...he suggested to our Cub Leaders that if we can not get a parent to volunteer for leadership we should tell the kids "IM SORRY BOYS, BUT YOUR PARENTS DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU". I am not exaggerating.
  4. mooseguy......I apologize for not making myself clear. Our Tour Permits are strictly done online. They go straight to the Scout Ex. This new policy came to be when I turned in a written Tour Permit to the Registrar and SE happened to be there. Took the form from the Registrar and told me that I should be doing these on line and this permit was the last one he was going to accept on paper. May i add that it wasn't in his happy tone. I don't think he has a happy tone. I follow all the emails sent out to us by Council and there was no indication that this change was going to be mandatory. This man is not approachable. Unless you are giving him money. I do got to hand it to him.
  5. Yes. I have dealt with our Scout Ex. face to face
  6. I know who My Charter Reps are Patrol Leaders Council I know them too. Charter Organization I know all of that. I just don't refer to them by their acronyms. Yes I have been in Scouting for 11 years.
  7. Eagle....Good place to start.... Council meetings... You mean....What do you mean? Vote on what?
  8. Calico Pen ........Our DE is a great guy and very helpful. It is not our DE. I will start with our Committee
  9. Scoutfish.....We have filled out the necessary permits for our fundraisers. I have all the training information for all our Leaders. As of December...all our Leaders have the training that is required under the "Umbrella of Scouting". We are doing what we need too. Thanks to the great advice and knowledge from this forum. I will discuss with the Troop Committee about getting our Charter Rep involved in our problems. I didn't realize how much power he has. I hear what some of you are say about being the problem. I understand.
  10. I should have waited for your response Eagle 92. Hmmmm, My Scoutmaster prefers to not make more waves and stay away from Council activities. He doesn't understand that rechartering is coming up and Camporee, and other Activities that we normally go to to fill up our quota of Camping activities.
  11. I don't understand.....What can our COR do. Except listen. Our Priest doesn't really interfere with Council matters. He is grateful that his parish has a Boy Scout Youth Group.
  12. Forgive my ignorance.....What does COR stand for. For that matter PLC, TC, CO. I have an idea but ahhh I am not sure.
  13. Thanks for all your help. Our Troop tries to comply with all the rules and policies that need to be addressed when doing anything. Sometimes we overlook new rules and policies that have been recently put into action. Honest mistakes on our part. WE fill out Tour Permits and we follow Unit Money Fundraising rules and we are helpful in our District. I do carry our Tour Permit at every outing. Be assured that we are not trying to fool the Council or get away with doing things with out the Council's knowledge. Our Council Ex is a jerk.
  14. YPT, training, and other stipulations in filling out Tour permits have been addressed by our Troop. The latest issue is fundraising. He is denying our annual chicken BBQ plate sale and all other fundraising activities because we didn't sell popcorn this year. Can he do that?
  15. Our Council Ex. is a bully. He recently was denying Tour Permits, calling us to the Camp Office and asking us to show proof of our Tour Permit at one of our approved trips. Making our Scoutmasters take the Leaders course over. (Apparently our records were never recorded when our Leaders took the course the first time), We are being denied to do any fundraising because we didn't sell popcorn this year. They can't keep good employees. They all leave. I thought it was just that he didn't like us. But talking to other Scoutmasters, they feel the same. He is horrible to talk to. I am afraid to approach him for anything. I don't want to be in Scouting if I have to deal with this man.
