Thanks @moosetracker! - I was a scout. Made it to Star before "fuming out" on gas fumes and perfumes. I am friends with a lot of people who are adult scouters and they recruited me. UC's are hard to come by in my area... Mostly a rural area with a lot of university types around. Thanks @Second Class! I'm working my ticket the best I can. Trying to maintain a positive attitude whilst surrounded by scouters with poor attitudes. Off to assist in combining two weak districts into a larger stronger district... :-)

WooHoo! I'm so happy the registration process was repaired! I've been waiting. I'm Dean Roberts, a volunteer from Macomb, IL in the Illowa Council. Medicine Lodge District for now, but my district is merging with another (Sha-Bo-Na) and we don't have a new district name yet. I started as a Unit Commissioner in 2008. Since then I've been a den leader and cub scout roundtable commissioner. I'm an Owl and a good ole Owl too for C3-133-11-1. Working my ticket now... I began my webelos den leader responsibilities this summer, attended camp school and just completed being the district cub scout day camp director. Whew I am tired... I'm a member of the district committee serving on the training committee and working on district email newsletter creation and web site maintenance. Dean

Nope. Using IE doesn't fix the problem. They sent the admin an email.

The photo work went to the photographer who had the lowest bid. A little QA anyone? Else it may have come from a stock agency which had cheap photos.

It doesn't say "2010," but I heard that it is.

Yep, I worked with my son on all of the Tiger requirements that I could. The other parents weren't helping their sons with the requirements. All Tigers got the Tiger badge at B&G, even though we only did one (1) den requirement for the badge. I feel cheated, but at least I know I tried to do the right thing. Hell, I think only 2 of us had the book. A few Tiger parents left scouts because no one was working on the requirements.

Welcome! I was a scout when I was younger also. I volunteered when my son was 5, because I just couldn't wait. He's now a Tiger Cub as well. I've completed all of the online training and just completed first Pow Wow last weekend. It was a lot of fun and I got my training in. If you can find a Pow Wow I highly recommend attending.

ScoutNut - Thanks for the replys. I'll do my best. >>It is entirely possible that being brand new, your Tiger den leader is feeling over their head, and is not real sure what they are doing as yet.

I got in on this topic late, but I see the frustrations and have witnessed them myself. My son is in a pack that doesn't offer immediate recognition. The pack meetings are just fun events, there are no advancement ceremonies, color guards, etc. The excuse it that those things aren't fun. As far as the den goes, I don't see how we are going to make much advancement progress until spring, after B&G. Even the crafts we do aren't in the book.

One question... if the pack that my son is in waits until Blue & Gold to recognize achievements, is there anything that says I can't give my son his totem myself as soon as he earns it? Why wait 6 months?

I just attended a Pow Wow where half of the cub leaders wore red/white numerals and the other half wore tan/green. Both sets were on the new and old uniforms. I guess you wear what you want.
