I bought two uniform shirts for my son on Ebay. The cost with shipping was less than the cost of one new shirt.

Three different crew members said the app did nothing but drain their batteries.

I've never heard of a camp encouraging Scouts to bring bikes. I like it.

Our pack considers the shirt, necker, and hat to be full uniform. It drives me nuts to see kids in basketball shorts and uniform form shirt. The cargo shorts I bought for my son were cheaper than basketball shorts, and are identical to uniform shorts. I come from a Troop where you were required to be in full inform to and from trips, and at meetings, or other Troop events when specified. We were lucky to have a big troop that kept a good inventory of old uniforms for those who could not afford one.

I loved Camp Horseshoe as a kid. It is quite possible. I've been to Hart with my Pack, and Crew a few times so far. I grew up in the old Philadelphia Council and worked at TI.

What camp was that?

I am happy to see they let the Scouts who didn't make it fail.

We sent $100 cash, she came home with $20. Of the $80 spent she said half was on vendor food for lunch. We sent a care package ahead of time because of the menu. Posting it ahead of time was a good thing.

Not surprised , the brand new bottle of soap was bearly touched, but a few of the small travel bars she packed were gone. now that you mention it, there was no funk coming eminating from any of them.

Really, this is what concerns people? Pins on uniforms? I'd rather worry about leaders wearing blue jeans or cargo pants with an untucked uniform shirt calling it a "Class A" unfirom.

My daughter took a solar shower bag and didn't use it. Of her Crew of seven girls, one told me she took few "real" showers and just used the rain, others described the showers as ice showers.

I'm all for Cheerful Service, but I agree with those Eagle Scouts. Revoke their Eagles? Not so much.

My daughter loved it for the most part. I think the Venturing only items were more social events in the evening. She said someone stole her mess kit, but everything else she packed is coming home(except for traded patches, and food). Unpacking will confirm this. Having the menu ahead of time helped her/us plan with supplemental food items.

My son had attended his first Summer Camp as a Cub Scout. Weather was hot and humid, but the staff had two five gallon water jugs at each program station. Food was good and plentiful, given the conditions dinner could have been lighter, but I know the menus are planned in advance. The staff was enthusiastic and accomodating. The kdis invited them back to site for s'mores and a handful were able to come by, they sang, played flashlight tag, and told stories. Teh cook even made a cake for son's b-day after I asked where to buy one. To top it off we attended the camp of my first summer camp.

Hunters should be able to hit their mark with iron sights.

My daughter and her crew helped rehab a local animal shelter. Thankfully she was not permitted to take the cat she friended back to The Summit.

My daughter won a ticket for the big zip and said she might wait in line to do it again. It was that fun.

That sounds like profiling to me.

If not for the price of admission, I would be more than happy to work as an RSO. Scouting is the reason I took the course.

My daughter's crew was told to wear non-denim cargo type shorts in the various colors of the uniform, or close to them, and tee shirts that cover the shoulder. Of course they would love for them to be in Scout shorts/slacks and Scout tee shirts if possible.

Tigers should have remained as it started. IMO there is entirely too much parent involvement in Cub Scouts.
