So in other words you are employers you are not fundraising. You are paying the scouts a wage for their work. People are paying you under the misrepresentation that the money supports the Scouting program are in fact paying personal wages. You are likely in violation of a number of employment laws. Not to memntion the lawsuits that could develop should a scout become injured "on the job". What misrepresentation? The money raised is supporting the Scouting program! It is helping the Scouts pay for what ever they need for Scouting! No one is getting paid anything! That is one heck of a leap to take without a net!

Why would they need to file a local tour permit? You only need the permit if you are traveling out of your Council area. Another old Scout tale. You need a tour permit anytime you are traveling as a unit or den to anywhere other than your normal meeting place.

Well, considering recharter time is upon us, you don't have to recharter any of those people! Politely tell them thanks but their services are no longer needed & don't recharter them!

I'd have a talk with the Scout in question about his perceived behavior & let him know no matter how things were handled in the past you were not going to let it continue. You might want to include the parents, too, but there is no need to escalate this unless the incidents continue.

Seems to me someone overreacted to a situation they didn't need to be involved in. The problem is the parents, not the Scout.

My point is that sometimes it is not the details of the plan but the leadership skills of the scout that shines. Excellent point! But in the case of son #2, he is being bullied into something that is not his.

The EA was irritated that son two had all the signatures before he reviewed it and said they were not valid since he was making him rewrite parts of it. Hogwash! This guy is bad news! The signatures are valid! Well, things are not going so well for son two. It seems in this district the project can not go to district unless it is signed off by the eagle adviser. There is no place for an Eagle Adviser to sign! This is nothing but adults putting up roadblocks! It's time to head down to the Council Advancement Chair & get this resolved! You son is actually learning something here! How NOT to do something!

There is nothing to work out! This "adviser" doesn't have the best interest of the Scouts at heart! How do I know this? Wait! The Eagle Adviser & DAC are the same person? That shouldn't happen! And I wouldn't consider yourself blessed! This man has no clue what he is doing! I would head on down to the Council Advancement Chair & fill this person in on what is going on & ask for their assistance. The EA/DAC is out of control!

Some adults made it that way Eamonn. Those who chose to let TV babysit their kids. It makes it tougher for those of us who didn't operate like that! There is nothing inherently wrong with video games. The problem comes into play when video games become more important than other things like talking to people face to face, etc.

After re-reading the initial post, am I correct in my understanding that the Eagle Adviser is the moron who is requiring all this junk? If so, does this person think it's his project? Since you husband is the Scoutmaster, I think it's time to take what your son has done to date, your son & go meet with the DAC! Explain what is going on & get this thing rolling! This "Adviser" is exactly the kind of person who give Scouting a bad name!

It really stinks when someone like this pulls this kinda crap! This is an Eagle Project not a PhD thesis! There is no reason for this. It's time to escalate this to the next level & get your son's project approved! Get your Scoutmaster to help out.

There is no falsification here! Now if when 1st questioned about it, the SM or other unit adult said "We must have put in the wrong date" then you have falsification! But this unit is handling this correctly!
