Gern, I was short on time when I left my last post. I don't think Jesus would execute a 15 year old girl that had an abortion. I also think that if she was arrested for this and hadn't repented for it, Jesus would let the authorities do what they do. Lisabob, If a pregnant women is shot & killed & her baby dies, the shooter will be prosecuted on two counts of murder. What makes abortion different? Abortion is murder.

Smoking isn't a youth protection issue, is it? I agree it's a bad habit & one I kicked about 10 years ago. As long as the adults are in their own area & not intermingling with the youth and not violating any laws while they are using tobacco products, I have no problem with it.

I agree that counseling ones own son for MB's should be avoided. While everything might be on the up & up, there is always that chance something will be questioned & there is no point putting a boy in that position.(This message has been edited by evmori)

Yeah smoking is bad for ya. Do people smoke? Yep. Should it be done away from the Scouts? Yep! When I was a smoker, the porch (yes I had a porch) in front of my tent at summer camp was off limits to the Scouts. That is where the leaders hung out. Did we smoke? Yep. Could the boys see us? Yep. Did they know we smoked? Yep. Were we away from them? Yep on the other side of the campsite. Did we drink coffee? Yep. And we even ate chips!

I have no problem with women making their own choice, either. They can choose to say no. If they say yes & the result is pregnancy & they decide to abort the child, they chose murder & should suffer the consequences.

I don't want my daughters to be punished for making a mistake by being forced to have a baby! Punished? For what? Being irresponsible? The mistake isn't the baby! The mistake is your daughter's poor judgment! What if your daughter would have been an unwanted pregnancy? Abortion isn't the responsible answer, Merlyn. It's the easy way out! It's murder plain & simple. You should be thankful you weren't aborted.

The only reason abortion isn't considered murder is because it's a medical procedure.
