Well, Ms Summer, I think it's time to move this along to the council level. Clearly the committee isn't going to do anything soon and while I'm not a heartless individual either, the mom thing is more of an excuse than a reason to drag this out any longer. I would get my son's Eagle paperwork back (I would have never turned it over unless it was just to get signed then given back) & head to your council office. BTW, I from your post, I think you & your son acted with excellent character & didn't lower yourselves to the SM level. Prayers will continue!

While this SM is adding to the requirements for his unit, there is nothing you can do about it! Not in your scope of responsibilities. But keep a mental note because I would bet there are a lot of other things this unit does that fall into the same category. You will be dealing with this guy a lot!

AS flattered as I am, packsaddle, your not correct. Merlyn, an atheist, has stated the Bible isn't clear on homosexuality yet has not provided any references to that statement other than others opinions.

I don't know if you can get the kid out! I think the key is to stop the parent from hovering!

Remember, Beavah, a lot of those leaders might already be trained. And not all of those leaders will stay around if training is mandatory so that lessens the number that require training. I don't think training should guarantee anything except the people who attend & successfully complete the training will be ready to go back to their unit & do their job effectively & the way the BSA would like it to be done.

A good leader should be a good manager but a good manager isn't necessarily a good leader. A leader is a person people look up to because of their character traits & abilities. A manager is more like a boss than a leader.

Merlyn, I have yet to see you post any passages in the Bible that are contradictory regarding homosexuality yet you claim the Bible isn't clear on this matter. Where's the facts?(This message has been edited by evmori)
