These situations are always interesting. Has this Scout completed his POR for rank? What MB's does he have to complete? Are there other requirements he will have to complete? Has he started researching his Eagle project?

I'd tell this "handy" parent thanks but no thanks. There services are not needed and based on the prior incidents not wanted.

In this state, the parent has no duty to disclose the disabilities or diseases of their children, not even to the school that they attend. I would bet that is the case in most states. So if they don't disclose little Johnnies medical problems and the kids keels over on a camping trip because he ate a peanut, who is responsible?

sandspur, I didn't take you comment that way. My point is if this form is so unreadable it is basically useless and I do feel it is important to be ready to answer the question about mom being a Dr if it comes up. Be prepared!

But jumping to that conclusion based on the discussion thus far, with no evidence or reason to believe this except that she is currently a stay-at-home parent, is simply insulting. Not as insulting as that lawsuit that could get filed if something happens to her little darling & you then find out her license has been revoked. Be Prepared.

I think the question about her physician status is pertinent. We don't know why she is unemployed. It is possible she has lost her license due to malpractice. If you lose her and her kid, so be it.

I'm with Gern on this one. Granted no one can read a doctors writing but the basic information should be legible.

It is not, because being "active" is not a requirement for the lower ranks. Ah but it is! There is a requirement to participate in xx Troop events. Key word participate. Does active = participate? Why, for the upper ranks, is this requirement so vague?

All this is gonna do is stir the pot again, Fred! How is active defined for the lower ranks? Why does the responsibility to maintain contacts fall on the unit leaders? They aren't the ones who are required to be active for a rank requirement.

Its going to be a long road if the youths get attorneys and fight this in court. And if these youth are guilty, they should just accept the consequences for what they did.

Communication MB! Well, the Scout should have his script he wrote out. I would agree both Scout & MB counselor are at fault here. While this requirement doesn't require the Scout to turn anything into the MB counselor, the MB counselor should be able to determine if the requirement was completed. Question - Who is the MB counselor in question?

Did the Scout tell his MB counselor this requirement was completed on this trip or did he just tell him he completed the requirement? Like Lisa, I would really like to know what MB & requirement we are talking about?

Last night a parent informed me that one of the boys, a Bear, brought a porn magazine to the pack meeting last month. Porn magazine? At last month's Pack meeting? Who is this parent who told you about this? Where was this Cub's parents? How does this parent know it was a porn magazine? Why did it take so long for this parent to tell you? A lot of questions to be answered before any advice should be given. Something seems amiss here.

I agree with Gern. This is not hazing, it is a felony! xlpanel, You really don't have a clue, do you! A prank gone wrong! What these people did was kidnap & assault another human! That's not a prank! These are serious crimes!
