  1. hops, Nice graphics. Pray for the families of those who lost their lives in this attack on freedom two years ago. Ed Mori American Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  2. OGE, I guess cooking sherry isn't on the list to be tasted, eh!
  3. While a gift isn't required it is a nice gesture. I would suggest something from you Scout Shop if you have one or a gift certificate/card to the Eagle's favorite store. Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  4. NJ, Lighten up, man! We have discussed this in depth more than once! And we always end up at the same place - agreeing to disagree. Well, at least most of us do. Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  5. Blotto? Is that the same as Three Sheets to the Wind?
  6. The G2SS has already dealt with this issue and so have we on this forum.
  7. Couldn't find it on the DEA website that contains the list of controlled substances.
  8. Never knew tobacco was a controlled substance? Interesting!
  9. OK. Let's suppose the Scout in the leadership position received all the correct BSA training and guidance and still did nothing. Did he "actively serve"? Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  10. OGE, That's correct about Troopmaster. You can "cheat" the software by placing an end date on the POR and adding the same POR again with a new start date. Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  11. twocubdad, I normally err on the side of caution in these instances, too. I am in no way advocating bringing alcohol on troop or patrol campouts. All I am suggesting is if done properly, cooking with alcohol can be done safely. Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  12. Got a feeling this started with my post in the other thread. The steak is basted in the burgendy wine marinade at the grocers then packaged. If the Scouts want to try drink the excess marinade so be it! There isn't enough to worry about! BUT - if the marinade was applied post grocer, what is the problem with having it prepared ahead of time, placed in a container & brought to camp. That way it would be used for its intended purpose & the worry that the Scouts would drink it would be gone! Yep the G2SS says no alcholic beverages. Common sense tells me what this means is no beer, wine, malt beverage or alcohol is to be brought on a camping trip with Scouts if the purpose of bring this type of beverage is for consumption other that cooking - AKA drinking. That's a no-no & should not be tolerated! Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10(This message has been edited by evmori)
  13. pack, The marinade is actually done at the local grocer. They have a special way of doing it that makes it tender as can be! Now I'm hungry! Ed
  14. My patrol. The friendships I made. All I learned. All I had to offer. I loved Woodbadge! Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  15. Fat Old Guy, I am interested in the responses to this question. I'm going to wait to chime in till I read what others post. Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  16. I love pecan pie! And a good cup of coffee to go with it! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Now for the main course, how about a nice t-bone marinated in a burgendy wine marinade along with some parsley buttered potatoes, sauteed mushroom cap & fresh green beans in garlic butter! Yum yum!!! Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  17. I like what Korea posted. If one volunteers for something then that volunteer should be expected to give the amount of time necessary for success of what they volunteered for! Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  18. On last thing. By saying "my troop" or "my patrol" can also mean one belongs. There is nothing wrong with that! Bob, You have in previous posts used the terms "my troop" or "my son's troop". No one thinks you own them! While the words are important, I think this is really splitting hairs. And as Fat Old Guy said, the SM handbook uses the same terminology. So obviously the BSA thinks calling a troop or patrol "my, mine, our, etc" is OK!!! And Bob, if the BSA uses the same phraseology then it should be gospel for you! Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  19. OGE & mk9750, Uns guys wouldn't be twin sons of different mothers would ya??? LOL!!! Ed
  20. I love Cincinnati chili! Great stuff! Add some hot sauce & yer off to the races! Fat Old Guy, E-mail me a pot of dat chili when you git back! Ed
  21. Red Devil Hot Sauce. Great with garlic for wings! Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10(This message has been edited by evmori)
  22. I am probably the one who got this topic off track. I apologize. From what I read, it seemed that some posters were stating that the directing style was a neagative style that should only be used as either a last resort or when someone was in danger. Other posters understood this the same way. My only intent was to give examples of when the directing style can be positive and productive. If I digressed, for that I am sorry. Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  23. Did the original question ever get answered?
  24. "You need to get a life Bob. If you actually searched through all those posts then you need to get out more. I was just remembering what you had posted." "Ed the comment you made was false and baseless." What did I say that was false & baseless? My Woodbadge troop? My course director? My son's troop? These are all statements you have made! Do you own your Woodbadge troop? Do you own you course director? Do you own your son's troop? I don't think so & I don't think anyone thought you did! It's sort of like saying my house knowing full well you still pay the bank each month & until it is paid off it is the bank's house. Ed Mori Scoutmaster Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
