Mark, Sounds like your training course sucked! Too bad. And if this is the same crew that runs Woodbadge I feel for the volunteers in your council. You can go out of council for Woodbadge! I have felt the BSA has too much training available and therefore things like your experience happen. And no one is really trained. I have always felt if there is a general training course for everyone with breakout sessions for spscific jobs in Scouting this is more effective! I think it would be a great idea! I've got some stuff that my council uses! If someone would be willng to put everything together, it would be a great idea! I loved doing this when I was the SM! I always related stories about the Eagle! Good ones naturally! Since you might not know that much about the Scout since this is your 1st one, I would talk to the other leaders & Scouts in your Troop & get some details that way. Enjoy it! Smile a lot!
