  1. Rooster is correct. Those who choose homosexuality have chosen to willfully sin against God. Makes no difference if they love each. It is a misguided love. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  2. Never hear just one side of a story and assume its accurate. Huh? Bob White said this? I all flustered! I though Bob's side was always accurate regardless of what the other side of the story is!
  3. Thanks. I never would have found that one without a flashlight & shovel! Fscouter, No fact here at all! Little Johnny's picture is on his Troop's website. No names on the pictures. A pervert sees this figures out where little Johnny's Troop is & abducts him on the way home from a Troop meeting. Could this happen? Sure. Highly unlikely, though. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  4. The unit funds belong to the unit not the CO. And if a unit dissolves the unpaid bills are paid & the rest of the money belongs to the council. The gear if not owned by an individual stays with the CO. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10(This message has been edited by evmori)
  5. Fat Old Guy, Where does the BSA have guidelines for unit web sites? I understood by reading the stuff on National's site that is was up to each council to dictate policy regarding unit & district sites. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  6. I took the old course and the patrol method was used 100% of the time. We were in patrols. We functioned as patrols. We did everything as patrols. I understand the new course doesn't do this. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  7. Fat Old Guy, You can look everywhere and won't find what you are looking for because it doesn't exist! The requirements can't be modified. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  8. NJ is correct. Since the Scout accounts are noted by the Troop treasurer by the Scout name & amount then they do belong to that Scout. And since the issue is about moving CO's & the old CO's absconding with the Troop funds, then yes it is the Scouts. By the old CO keeping the funds in the Troop account, they are in essence stealing this money. It isn't theirs. Their charter doesn't state they own the funds. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  9. If the CO had nothing to do with raising the funds in the Troop account then it doesn't belong to them. And by keeping it constitutes theft. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  10. For the same reason that the money raised by the choir to by robes belongs to the church and not to the choir Director or the individual members of the choir. It belongs to the church. Hades is warming up! Unless the church gave the Troop all the funds in the Troop checking account(which is highly unlikely) comparing the church choir to a Scout Troop is absurd! The church bought the choir robes. The Scouts raised the money for the Troop. The money belongs to the Troop not the church! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  11. Bob White is correct. Hades is getting cold~ The equipment belongs to the CO. I'm not sure about the money. Who's on the checking account? Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  12. It is up to the SM to designate people other than himself to sign a Scout's book. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  13. Eamonn, Let me know when you want to meet at that place in the Strip District for some green bottles with the numbers on them. Sounds like you need a few!~ Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  14. Fahrenheit 451 great movie! We have used box ovens to cook everything from pizza to cakes to pies to turkeys! They are great! Take a little work to make correctly but they are worth the effort!~ Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  15. hops, Use common sense. No last names for Scouts. No phone numbers or addresses. Meeting places & times are OK cause anyone can get these from you council office. Pictures are fine but no names in the captions (if you use them). Troop (Pack) history is good. Newsletters, permission slips, etc. are all fine. If you want you can check out our Troop site at www.bsa.net/pa/t1. There are links there to other Troop 1's throughout the country, too. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  16. My take is to 1st see if your council has any guidelines. I would hazard to guess most don't. And if they don't you are pretty much on your own. Common sense should prevail! And once again remember - these are guidelines, not hard & fast rules! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  17. Folks, Note the link Laurie posted is rules & regs for council sites ONLY! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  18. There has been nothing posted that would indicate there is a problem with the SM other than a "feeling". While that "feeling" maybe correct, any opinion given would be out of line. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  19. Right here is where that impression came from, Bob. Someone please tell Bob this is here since he has me blocked. Thanks Blaze I am only going to make these last two points to you, because you are at a distinct disadvantage since you are in the thick of the battle it is very difficult for you to be objective. First. Don't kid yourself that a lot of packs operate for years without a committee, thats just not true. Some do but not for long, like you are finding out, it is a sure fire ingredient for disaster. Let's say that 5 packs and 5 troops in every council operate without a committee, that would be a lot. That would account for less than 3000 units nation wide. That might seem like a lot. BUT you need to realize that is only 2% of units. So 98% of units do not operate like yours. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  20. I was an altar boy never an altar server.
  21. Maybe that alter boy will become Spider Man!
  22. Badges we don't need no stinking badges! Oops wrong movie!
  23. pack, Only for 2nd Class. For Star & Life the service project must be approved prior to completing the service project. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  24. From the Advancement Rules & Regs Service Projects Second Class Rank For the Second Class rank, a Scout must participate in a service project or projects approved by his Scoutmaster. The time of service must be a minimum of one hour. This project prepares a Scout for the more involved service projects he must perform for the Star, Life, and Eagle Scout ranks. Star and Life Ranks For Star and Life ranks, a Scout must perform six hours of service to others. This may be done as an individual project or as a member of a patrol or troop project. Star and life service projects may be approved for Scouts assisting on Eagle service projects. The Scoutmaster approves the project before it is started. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  25. mk9750, Heritage Reservation Week Four Camp Liberty Yorktown Campsite! And yes Fat Old Guy, 15 minutes is about right! And yes dan, they are heavy. But two Scouts can set them up! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
