First, the issue isn't the BSA's USE of public facilities, it's the BSA's special treatment. The BSA can USE public facilities as long as they are treated the same as any other similar situated group. Let's see the BSA maintained the place all these years at no cost to the city. They made improvements to it at no cost to the city. Anyone can use it. The BSA received "special treatment" because they put all their time and money in the place! So if the Boys & Girls club did the same thing and got the same "special treatment" would you be pitching a fit? Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

We have discussed this before! Active is more than being registered. Active means participating in Patrol & Troop activities. An active leader is involved in the day to day operation of his Troop/Patrol (depending on his position). Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

I am confident that no one in the BSA disagrees with your right to protest rules you do not like. Just understand that that your rights do not include maintaining your membership in the BSA if you protest publicly. You have a responsibility to make your protest through the prescribed methods and channels made available to you by the BSA or else the BSA has the right to end your membership. So the BSA is allowed to trample on an individuals 1st Amendment right? I don't think so. If I want to stand up in the town square and scream at the top of my lungs "the BSA rules about patch placement on uniforms is stupid" there isn't a thing the BSA can do! Seriously folks! There are documents the BSA doesn't filter down to the unit level that we probably need to know about. Fat Old Guy posted one in another thread that deals with unit web sites. I don't know how I missed this topic! We are known as the Bass Hole Patrol! On o our ASM's had a t-shirt with a picture of a bass on it and it had a hole right in the middle of the bass. That shirt is now our patrol flag! A blessed Easter to all! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Has anyone talked to this lady about this? Why was she asked to leave her last Troop? Has the CO be apprised of the situation? There are times I mean they, there are times I mean we. As far as I know I have never said MY program, or my unit, or my way, or my rule. Isn't that more important? No it's not! What's wrong with saying MY unit or MY Troop or MY Patrol? Nothing. If one is a member of a unit using my is fine. Same as being a member of a church & referring to it as MY church. There are a few posters who enjoy taking personal shots at me, hey, sticks and stones. Most of them are not really unit leaders, or haven't taken the time to learn about the program they "run". Is this a stick or a stone or both? Is the CO's name on the account? Do they have the authority to sign checks? If the answer to these question is not then the money belongs to the unit not the CO.
