Fat Old Guy, Where ya been? It would seems like fraud to me unless the United Way can prove the money donated that was specifically designated for the BSA was give to the BSA. And you will notice Merlyn's response is in direct relationship to his IQ. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10(This message has been edited by evmori)

PA United Way distributes BSA escrowed funds to other programs
evmori replied to Merlyn_LeRoy's topic in Issues & Politics
Merlyn, I know you think I'm a moronic twit who couldn't spell c-a-t if you spotted me the c & a. But it seems the United Way in SE PA is deciding to discriminate against the BSA by pulling funding because the BSA is legally allowed to discriminate based on the Supreme Court ruling. So in reality, the BSA could sue the United Way for discrimination and stand a good chance of winning! I really hope the money held back by the United Way wasn't money donors wanted to go directly to the BSA. That seems just flat illegal if it is! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10 -
Yeah refrigerated CPB! Has to be Jiff! On Ritz! Not some sissy Wonderbread! Warm PB gets all runny and tastes like snot! And I don't like jelly so it isn't an issue! And yes this does relate to Scouting! All good Scouter's know that PB&J MUST be on the tables for ALL meals! Ed "CCPB" Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Interesting Merlyn. Only one thing was fiction! Most unproven. But that doesn't mean it ain't true~ And you say I can't learn anything! Me! Think not! I do know I can't learn anything from you since you have nothing but trash to teach and I have no desire to learn the art of garbage collection! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

OK Merlyn. Since you seem to think ALL the decisions regarding the separation of church & state are correct, how do you explain the following: DID YOU KNOW? As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S. Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view . It is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments! As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door. As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall, right above where the Supreme Court judges sit, a display of the Ten Commandments! There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C. James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution" made the following statement: "We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said: "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ". Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777. Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making law ...an oligarchy ... the rule of few over many. The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said: "Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers." Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Eagle Scout's 3-day party cut short by Laconia police
evmori replied to thanes's topic in Issues & Politics
I think, considering his actions & his parents actions, his Eagle should be scrutinized closely! Did he actually "earn" the rank or was it "given" to him? This sort of behavior doesn't just "happen". Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peer 4:10 -
If you haven't already, please put me on your ignore list.

Why would I want to ignore your posts? I choose not to ignore anyone so my answer will have to be NO~ -
"Ed, 20% of all Scouts in BSA are now LDS members. Mormons use BSA as their youth organization. It would seem that BSA thinks that LDS scouts can do duty to God without any problem." I never said they couldn't do their duty to God. All I said was they are a cult and shouldn't be considered Christian. Bob, Good word! Describes you to a T! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Those must be really good lemons! Why such a high price? I would say this boarders on unethical sales practices! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

It's Sunday and the 4th of July! And the men's choir in church will be singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic! What a great day! Praise the Lord! Jason, 1st off, please don't include Mormon's as Christians. They are a cult. Rooster7, Like I mentioned to NJ in another thread, when will you learn Bob White is always correct! He is never wrong and if your opinion is different from his you are wrong! I have a great respect for your religious knowledge, Rooster7. I would love to sit down with you & discuss many things! Maybe that will happen some day, Lord willing. Bob, (who won't see this since he has me blocked) You posted "Jesus doesn't have to be mentioned for me to enjoy that gathering." I will pray for you, son. Jesus is the reason we are alive! When His name isn't mentioned during a religious service, I feel the service is incomplete! To no one in particular, I have lead many camp religious services. They have all been non-denominational therefore I have always omitted the name Jesus from them. I don't like doing this but to be truly non-denominational this must be done since you don't know who your audience is. I have and still do, from time to time, depending on the audience, offer to pray with anyone who wants to pray after the service. I have had some takers over the years. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

"You could no more argue scouting program with me than you could with Eamonn. In fact i could easily list a dozen regular posters who would KO you in the scouting discussion ring." I know Bob won't see this but I couldn't resist. Bob, you are a very knowledgeable Scouter. That is apparent. You are also a very opinionated Scouter. That, too, is apparent. You give you opinions as fact. Sometimes you are correct, sometimes not. It's the times you are not that tick people off! You defend your opinions that are incorrect to the death until someone proves you wrong then you curl up & slink away! I would bet those dozen poster you talk of all agree with you all the time. If they don't you think they are wrong & delivering the BSA program in the wrong manner! And a man with your knowledge & job should be more careful with his postings. Your spelling & is atrocious! You sometimes post uncompleted sentences! This site has a spell checker. I suggest you use it! If you want to come across as the great "Know-It-All" Scouter you should really learn to post like one. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Fuzzy, I agree about the popcorn. It is expensive. Actually a unit can sell just about anything within the rules and it will probably sell because benefits Boy Scouts. And there are many other items that can be sold with a better return for the unit. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

NJ, Ya never learn, do ya! Bob White is always right and never assumes anything! Everything he posts is accurate & if you question him you are wrong for doing so! His interpretation of the rules & regs is always correct! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

So if I'm not a member of the BSA but want to donate money to a specific unit, the unit can't accept it? Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

I think the neckerchief is also optional.
