Ed, How many patrols are there in your troop today? Totally irrelevant to this thread. If you can't share a change that improved your program, don't bash the ones who can! And just for clarification, there is only one program. The delivery varies unit to unit! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Well, so much for the exchange of changes that worked! Even though the Scouts can write & take notes I guess we are wrong in not reviewing the meeting as soon as it is finished! I forgot to take the Bob White rule into account! Bob White Rule "If it isn't done EXACTLY the way it is written in a BSA publication, it isn't Scouting" Well, I guess the guys in my Troop aren't Scouting then! Instead of holding our "short" PLC at the end of each meeting, we switched to the beginning. The PLC would review the prior week meeting & go over the plan for the current week meeting. They like this a lot. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Backpacker, We do the same. However, we use to have the 2nd year Webelos participate in the Boy Scout camporee. Great recruiting tool. The Webelos loved it! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

silver shark, Thanks for your post. Bob did get his facts from my Troop's web site (which is currently off line). What he didn't get off the web site were the reasons why there was a decline in membership. I posted this in another thread when Bob decided "Haven't bashed Ed in awhile". Spin it all you want Bob. You are good at that! Adding to advancement requirements is in no way the same as tweaking the patrol method do it works in you unit. Additions to or subtractions from the advancement & merit badge requirements is prohibited! Says so in the Advancement Committee Policy & Procedures as well as many other places.
