I took the old course and loved every minute of it! We were treated like a Scout patrol. We elected a PL & APL. We functioned like a patrol the entire time. FScouter, No it isn't too much to ask that the uniform be worn correctly. I love the uniform! To me it is very comfortable. But until the BSA makes it mandatory to own a uniform to be a member, this will always be a problem. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

OK. What I posted is my opinion. To me it seems that if someone steps on an atheists' rights (which are the same as my Christian rights) the ACLU is front and center defending them. Now when a Christians' rights are stepped on, it seems the ACLU is "taking a closer look" at the situation before getting involved. Seems very selective to me. Merlyn is an atheist. And if you post an opinion contrary to his belief, you are a liar! I am a Christian. If you post an opinion contrary to my belief you are not a liar. There is a great opportunity here to commend a young Scout for doing the right thing and having some fun, too. Bring the Scout who reported the "stabbing" & recognize him for what he did! Explain how important it was for him to tell his leaders this information in a timely fashion! Thank him for saving his fellow Scouts' life. Then have some fun! Make it tasteful! I love the uniform! I think it's cool! I wear mine all the time! But the BSA doesn't require anyone who is registered as an adult or Scout to own one! So if a unit is requiring this then they are in direct violation of BSA policy! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Being active is more than being registered and less than being there 100% of the time. Boys who are in sports or other school activities are going to be there less than those not involved in these activities. I really see nothing wrong with having Troop guidelines in place to help define active. This puts everyone one the same playing field. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

1.If a Scout has a blue card dated prior to 1/1/2005 I would count that as starting under the old requirements. 2. I know of nothing that says you can't do this! I would think it's up to to the SM. I don't think one can do too much community service, though. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
