  1. Then why do those so-called 'Christians' do it? Maybe they know better? So-called "everybody" do it, too, not just Christians.
  2. Posted by OGE MDSummer just sent me a PM, She has been informed that National ruled that Justin will be receiving Eagle Did she say why the appeal took so long?
  3. Speaking from an atheist's viewpoint, I'm certain that were he here today, Christ would also turn his back to all those gays, etc. Well, I think that is wrong. Jesus never turned His back on anyone.
  4. When I was a SM, there were occasions when a Scout wasn't picked up after a meeting & a call had to be made to mom & dad to come get him. I would stay with the Scout until they showed up. Never had a problem or question.
  5. But the question does remain: Right or wrong....When the ASM felt there was a sexual issue/ YP issue, why didn't he do something or at the very least, say anything to the SM or any other person including the scouts? Why? Because he is reading something into a situation that isn't there? Maybe the YP issue is with this guy and not the Scouts! This is a non-starter and over-blown. WAKWIB, I think you should file a civil suit for defamation of character! Then call your mommy! (This message has been edited by evmori)
  6. Woodworking + Animal Study = Trojan Horse Building.
  7. There ya go Eamonn mucking up the whole works by applying common sense! Thanks for your insight.
  8. >>"That's true, but when an ASM thinks that it is, and doesn't say anything about it, it makes you wonder what else he's not coming forward with."
  9. Just because on ASM thinks a comment like that has sexual overtones doesn't make it a YP issue.
  10. He was told by a youth of something that he felt could be a potential youth protection issue. Huh? Where do you get that from?
  11. I like mine in solid form cooling a glass of JW Black
  12. Would it be OK if the National Day of Prayer was held in the Muslin wash basins?
  13. A sleeping uniform inspection is what's needed!
  14. I have no problem with clean feet, Gern, but I don't need the government to fund a foot bath with taxpayer money so I can wash my feet. That is strictly a religious requirement for Muslims. Just heard that the National Day of Prayer is being considered unconstitutional?(This message has been edited by evmori)
  15. There is nothing wrong with a martial arts demo. When I was a Cubmaster, we had a local martial arts school put on a demo at our Blue & Gold. The boys loved it!
  16. Considering the temperature was abnormally high, I don't see a problem. There are exceptions to every rule. Since it's you campsite, it's your call. When I'm camping in the summer I sleep in shorts only. If I have to take a stroll to the latrine in the middle of the night, I'm not tossing a shirt on.
  17. I understand Gern. The wash basins were not built for you & me. They were built for Muslims with taxpayer money. Just because you and I can use them doesn't it make it constitutional.
  18. Gern, I know the difference, but the wash basins were built with taxpayer money? Isn't that a direct endorsement of a religion?
  19. It would make no difference to me Gern. Why don't you think this is a constitutional violation, Merlyn? Taxpayer money directly used to fund a religious requirement for Muslims isn't a constitutional violation but chartering a BSA unit is? Sound like you are splitting legal hairs.
  20. Yes we do agree. But it appears Merlyn doesn't care about this type of constitutional violation but will squawk until the cows come home about the government illegally chartering BSA units. As for me, I don't really care either, but then again, I'm not against the government chartering BSA units nor do I feel my rights are being stomped on.
  21. Maybe because your anger blinds you. Foot baths built in public schools with taxpayer money for Muslims so they could comply with Muslim religious ritual is a direct endorsement of a religion by the government.
  22. Because they weren't displays put up by private individuals in public forums (legal), they were religious displays put up by government entities (illegal). Why don't you know this? I know this. The foot baths weren't put up by private individuals in public forums (legal), they were installed for a specific religious group by tax dollars (illegal). Why don't you see this?
  23. Well, Merlyn, why were governments forced to remove the nativity displays they had in their buildings?
  24. Sinks endorse a specific religion? Hey Ed, are schools prevented from serving vegetables because some people are vegetarians for religious reasons? Are school prohibited from having fish if it's Friday during Lent? Sinks built so a specific religion can comply with their religious duties, yes. Your food comparisons are apples and oranges. Hey Merlyn, let's put that nativity set back in the court house since we are allowed to have religious freedom.
