Sure cell phones are a great device in case of an emergency. They can also be a real problem if Scouts are playing games on them, texting their friends & using them for non-emergency situations. And the non-emergency use is where the problems come from. A Scout calling mom because he is homesick. Not good. Only creates problems for the adult leadership at camp. A Scout playing games on them. Not good. I don't think mom & dad dished out the cash for little Johnny to sit in his tent all week & play games or text his friends on his cell phone. If the adult leadership has cell phones & uses them properly, then there is no need for a Scout to bring one to camp. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

pack, Gain? I hope to gain a better insight into why tj is a homosexual. Is there something wrong with that? Is searching for more information a bad thing? I have no motive other than what I stated. How will I respond to tj's answers will be your next question. My answer is "I don't know". Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

We meet on Monday. Why? Don't really know. We just do. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Brent, The American Cash Lovers Union is a joke! And if a Scout would pursue it to a higher level, it would be overturned & the Scout would be allowed to have his BOR regardless of what he wore. And if he was turned down for Eagle because he wasn't in uniform then that, too, would be overturned. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

tj, I've been on vacation & just got back. Couple of questions. When did you realize you were gay? How did you realize you were gay? Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Someone wanna show me where it states in a BSA publication that an Eagle candidate must wear his uniform for his Eagle BOR? I don't think you will find it. And if Scouts are being turned away because they are not in uniform, then that is adding to the requirements which is prohibited. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

BOR sign-off.

This is up to the MB counselor. The starting point can be from when the SM signs the MB card for the Scout to begin working on the MB or from the time he joined Boy Scouts. It is up to the counselor, not the SM, unless they are the same person. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Hunt, Thanks. But ya gotta explain #16. If you are referring to James 5:12 I think your interpretation is off. And #20. I don't think making statues of Jesus would be considered a "graven image". Now Mary is a different story. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Why not deport them? There are many immigrants who go through the process legally. Why should the illegals get special treatment? Wait! Haven't we discussed special treatment before? Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Gern, Funny stuff, but nothing Biblical about it. Thanks for trying. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

If the jacket had "WWJD...be an orthodox Jew", he wouldn't be violating any Scout law. That is a fact. Sure he has the right to free speech. So do I. So does everyone else. By asking him to remove the jacket that is not needed that has questionable language on it isn't stepping on his right of free speech. For all we know, it could be considered pornographic! Military's aid to Boy Scouts is a front in larger legal war

If the BSA is a religious organization, what religion are they? -
Excellent points, Rooster. I agree. I would still like to know how a 1 year old shows feminine tendencies, though. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

I think you have two choices. 1. File charges & have the lady arrested for theft. 2. If the Pack can absorb the loss, consider it a learning experience & make the necessary adjustments to prevent this in the future. I would go with #2. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Actually Trevorum, a 1 year old can't sin. They don't know right from wrong at that age. And like Rooster, I would question how a 1 year old male showed feminine tendencies. Like what? Sorry Merlyn, this "bad penny" ain't going anywhere. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Maybe the laws are too restrictive, but they are the laws. Why should someone who is in this country illegally reap the same benefits as I do? Not a good idea. Kahuna, I understand you point! Amen! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

tj, I'd be gone like a bad penny. It is that simple to me. I refuse to purchase or rent any Disney products because of their gay policy. God made every living thing on this earth. All humans have free will. We can choose to sin or not. So if you want to say God created gay people I would say you are wrong. God created people who chose to be gay. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Kahuna, Yep. I'd be one of the 1st ones out the door. If you don't mind my asking, what religion are you? Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Wisdom is #1. The most important. Wisdom leads to understanding. Matt, I'm surprised you you didn't interpret "though it cost you all you have" as meaning "spend all your money". That would have been in line with your interpretation of James 5:12 Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
-
I'm with you, OGE. I can't figure it out either.

The commissioner barged into a Court of Honor, took over, lined up the boys, and conducted an inspection? or The Scoutmaster invited him to come and take part in program, which included a uniform inspection? Makes no difference. A Court of Honor is not the place to hold a uniform inspection. A Troop meeting, campout, Patrol meeting are more appropriate places for uniform inspections. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

True or not there are "Paper Eagles" out there. Maybe not to this extreme but there are Scouts who want to be an Eagle without doing the work. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Even says Class A Uniform on the pants pages! Oh no! Does this mean .....? Dare I say .....? There really is a "Class A Uniform"? (shuddering) And (oh my) on the Insignia pages, the site states "For wear on a Class A uniform! Oh the humanity! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10(This message has been edited by evmori)
