  1. And the 1st Amendment says nothing about the church & state being separate. What it does say is the government can't establish a religion & this is in no way establishing a religion. Bad ruling by the judge. It will be overturned. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  2. So this Scout was booted because of an allegation that even an independant investigation couldn't verify ever happened? This kid was railroaded! If this was my kid, I be spitting mad & demand proof the allegations were true! This is just wrong! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  3. Of course, if you're talking about government funding, the government can't fund religious organizations like the BSA. Since the BSA isn't a religious organization the government can supply funding! Remember, the SCOTUS ruled the BSA is a private organization, not a religious organization! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  4. JKHNY's real complaint? The sky is blue! There is water in the ocean! JKHNY has no real complaint! He/she just likes to type! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  5. But like it or not, P&T are saying what many are now thinking Is this the proverbial "many" or do you actually know of "many" who feel this way? And from what I understand, P&T didn't actually say much! Big surprise! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  6. In my district, BLT is a great course! It covers a ton of stuff very well! Scoutmaster Fundamentals is also great! These are the two best courses my district does! The others are well done but I feel there are many that could be combined. Put TCC & COR training together! Put BALOO & OWL together! With all the separate training courses taking up som much time it's no wonder we have problems getting people to attend them! They just don't have the time! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  7. Thanks Rooster! My point was and is who cares! Penn & Teller are talentless entertainers who poke fun at everything and everyone! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  8. My district does TCC on an as needed basis for each unit and the trainer(s) come to the unit. Is it possible there are too many training courses? Could some of these courses be consolidated into a more encompassing training presentation? Maybe, we really don't need some of these courses? Could more be put on-line? Hmmm ..... think~think~think Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  9. I love it when people read into posts! No where did I compare Penn & Teller to bin Laden. My point (which seemed to be lost on some) was who cares what Penn & Teller think of the BSA! Or what bin Laden thinks! Sorry for the rant! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  10. jkhny is nothing more than Merlyn on steroids!
  11. Well there we have it! It's now a fact! Endorsed by two godless and not very funny comedians! Merlyn, thanks for posting such useless information! I can't wait for your post letting us know Osama bin Laden feels the same way! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  12. We use Troopmaster. Excellent software. Very user friendly. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  13. This is one of the best things the BSA does. We pass out the SFF bags at our charter church after both services on Sunday & pick them up before both services the following Sunday. Everything is counted & put in the church food bank that helps the community. This is a great service to the community & every unit should participate! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  14. I loved the Rifleman when I was a young lad!
  15. FScouter, Thanks so much for your insight. Did you edit yourself? It would seem the site owner has granted jkhny the right to post in these forums & it also seems none of the moderators has edited his/her posts. What I should have posted was "jkhny has just as much of a right to post here as any other forum member!" Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10(This message has been edited by evmori)
  16. While I respect your freedom of speech, jkhny, it would be real nice if you had an original thought instead of a copied and possible plagiarized one. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  17. Well, I for one think jkhny needs to get a life but he/she has just as much of a right to post here as anyone else! It does seem like a lot of useless yelling at the rain, Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  18. Not based on ignorance at all, packsaddle. All medication and medical procedures carry an amount of risk. Some more than others. That's all! If the pro-lifers are arguing taking birth control pills are the same as abortion they are really stretching the envelope. And by doing so, really skewing the issue! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  19. pack, There is no way you or anyone else can justify eliminating certain kinds of birth control because a minute percentage of women might be aborting fetus' unknowingly. And there is a huge difference between knowingly killing an unborn child and inadvertently killing an unborn child by taking a pill. You can't compare the two. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  20. Sounds like a service project to me. I'd be interested to see what the boys think.
  21. Sorry Dan. That was packsaddle. My mistake. Technically you are correct, Dan. But in reality, the women who are taking birth control are trying to prevent getting pregnant not trying to kill their unborn child. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  22. Ed, that is how oral hormone-based contraceptives are *supposed* to work. However, in actuality, in a small percentage of cases, ovulation *does* occur, but the presence of hormones in the maternal bloodstream prevents implantation. Thus, the fertilized egg (actually a multi-cell zygote at that point) is shed by the body. Ahh! I thought from your previous post it happened all the time! At least that's what you led me to believe! But based on you last post, this is more like an exception to the rule than the norm like you led me to believe. But abortion being murder is more the norm than the exception. Especially partial birth abortion. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10
  23. I would expect no less from a pro-life site. Q: How Does the Birth Control Pill Work? A: Birth control pills, or oral contraceptives, contain hormones that suppress ovulation. During ovulation an egg is released from the ovaries, without ovulation there is no egg to be fertilized and pregnancy cannot occur. No abortion here contrary to the link you posted. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10(This message has been edited by evmori)
