Have we become so politically correct that poking fun at one another is now taboo? If so, we are really in a bad way. I'm still looking for the point.

I'm sure there is a point here but for the life of me I don't see it.

I wouldn't give a group of Scouts five minutes of instruction and turn them loose with POWER tools, a bad idea. Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! This is one of those "just because they can doesn't mean they should" situations. Anytime you are letting Scout aged kids use power tools, there should be close experienced adult supervision. Wow! Another hasty generalization from Ed. Not everyone is hypocritical about opening up discussion about homosexuality. I never said everyone was. The generalization is yours. I write in one language & you read in another. What is hypocritical is that you don't want BSA promoting homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle to YOUR son but it's OK for BSA to demonize homosexuality to MY son. Huh? If you run out of tents you can't go camping! Where is this gear going? Are the Scouts selling the gear on E-Bay? We had this problem. Our QM kept losing the list, too. We then decided to have an adult oversee the QM & also get a copy of the list. Once the Scouts were held accountable for the gear they returned it promptly. Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10

Well, Dan, lower animals as you put it function pretty much on instinct. They don't have the decision making ability humans have. And actually, comparing animals to humans is like comparing apples to oranges. Homosexuality is a chosen lifestyle. Call it my opinion if you want. There is no proof a human (not a lower animal) is born a homosexual. Yeah I know there are things to point to it! Whoopee! There are things that point to a lot of stuff that ain't so. Homosexuality is a choice made by humans. Show me where in the Bible homosexuality is OK with God? So tell me, if a scoutmaster is a homosexual but never engages in homosexual behaviour in the presence of scouts, how can he be a poor moral role model? Because homosexuality is immoral! That's the big problem with cell phones and kids. They have very little consideration for anyone but themselves when they are on them. And they are on them all the time. I agree, Eamonn, waiting till you stop to make a call is appropriate. And when the adults at meetings don't either turn their phones off or put them on vibrate they should be asked to leave. It's not that they don't know how. They just don't care. Selfish is getting real popular again! Plus the Scouts should turn their phones off while at the meeting.
