At one time, Webelos were allowed to attend Boy Scout camporees & participate as Webelos dens against other Webelos dens. Great recruiting tool! Sad to say, this is no longer allowed! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

So sad! I don't know the facts but this was probably at Camp Liberty which is the Boy Scout patrol cooking camp. There are a lot of sites that are very rocky. It would be interesting to know which site this occurred in. Each site is provide with a 3 burner propane stove per patrol. Sounds like these Scouts were heating their dish water over the fire in the fire circle in their site instead of using the stove. It was always my understanding that the Ordeal must be completed at summer camp or at the Fall Ceremonial. If it wasn't, then the Scout or adult must be tapped out again. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

Why are you as SM, being interviewed by the EBOR? Why are you not allowed to observe the EBOR? Your Scout is the one who is being reviewed for Eagle, not you or any other adult in your unit. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

Over the years, we have had a few boys leave early for many reasons. The only ones who left earlier than Friday were those who were sent home. Regardless of the reason, for the Scout to be eligible to be tapped out for the OA, they must stay until Saturday AND they must arrive on Sunday! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

If the council scout shop doesn't retrofit their stock of books with addendums, or return unsold books to supply, how can they expect us field volunteers to follow it? It's requirement #11 11. Tell someone who is eligible to join Boy Scouts, or an inactive Boy Scout, about your troop's activities. Invite him to a troop outing, activity, service project, or meeting. Tell him how to join, or encourage the inactive Boy Scout to become active. As bogus as it is & even if it isn't in the old books, it still needs to be completed. Is it on Troopmaster? A while ago, my wife worked with a lady who wouldn't take her newborn across state lines. She thought it would traumatize the infant! She also sat for an hour each night in the "rain room" with her baby. The "rain room" was the bathroom with the shower running. Takes all kinds! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

I would agree with Gern. Most of them don't get it. I attribute this to their age & understanding at that age. It seems boys between 12-18 just don't process the information the way we as adults do. That's why they need more guidance & mentoring. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

I gotta agree with Gonzo1. If the Scout in his example gets denied at his EBOR, it would be overturned on appeal, but, the EBOR would not be the ones who passed the Scout. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
