  1. No, I DEMAND accomodation and equal treatment, and I've stated before that I would defend that up to and including deadly force if I thought it was necessary. I hope you meant equal accommodation. I demand the same. Only your demands infringe on my rights. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  2. For Troop meetings, assemblies at camp, roundtable, formal events, full field uniform. During the day at camp, activity uniform. Traveling to & from camp, whatever. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  3. OK Back to the topic. Has anyone noticed that Mr. Croft has based his belief on the fiction novel 1984? Also, has there been a ruling in this case? Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  4. Gotta agree with Oak Tree about But I find it to be an oversimplification to suggest that all poorly uniformed troops are led by leaders who don't like wearing the uniform. We as adult leaders should be setting the example. By doing so, doesn't guarantee everyone will follow it. We hope they do but since a uniform isn't required, setting the example is the best we can do. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  5. It would have to be someone who signed up for the site to send this by PM! That is really low! I haven't received anything like this. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  6. Religious freedom means we as Americans have the right to worship what we want to worship or who we want to worship. A nativity display on the courthouse lawn is not endorsing any religion. Crossing out "In God We Trust" is how you justify not being hypocritical? Ha! Didn't lie Merlyn. I don't lie. Nor am I a hypocrite. My statement is my opinion of your methods. You don't get to decide how I view you. The kicker is still how Mr. Croft decided he is an atheist - after reading the fiction novel 1984! Total farce! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  7. When in doubt, resort to name calling. If Merlyn was for religious freedom, he would have no problem with nativity display beside a Christmas tree on the courthouse lawn. But the Christmas tree stays & the nativity has to go because someone's rights are violated! What about the rights of those who want the nativity display? They don't matter. And how is allowing a nativity display on the courthouse lawn endorsing a religion? But I guess it really doesn't matter since a Christmas tree is a Christian symbol, too. It's just more widely accepted as a secular one. I'm surprised you use American currency, Merlyn! It's kinda hypocritical since the words "In God We Trust" is on it! OGE, I really don't care if Merlyn ever agrees with me. I know I will never agree with him either. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  8. I guess we shouldn't be surprised by Merlyn's defense of Mr. Croft. After all, both want nothing more than the removal of God from everything at any cost! But let's not complain about it because we might be trampling on the rights of those who don't believe in God. Well what about the rights of us who do believe in God? Guess they don't matter. Maybe I should re-read 1984. I musta missed a great epiphany somewhere! Yeah Merlyn complaining is OK but complain about something worthwhile! A teacher wearing a college shirt! A flier sent home about a Bible Club! The Scouts are allowed to meet in the school! Barricade the doors! The end is near! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  9. Ya know what they say, ya poke a pig enough & it will squeal! How is whining & complain about a teacher wearing a college shirt going through the proper channels? This says it all In an interview last year, he said he lost faith in Christianity, what he calls the "supernatural," after reading 1984 in high school. Get out the tin foil hats! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  10. Merlyn, I am not disparaging atheists! It wouldn't make any difference if Mr. Croft were a Presbyterian! His tactics are terrorist in nature! He wants all reference to God removed from the public school his children attend! Complaining about a teacher wearing an Abeline Christian shirt! Does the man realize the teacher might be an alum or have a child that attends that school? Or is he so blinded he can't see past his nose! People like Mr. Croft give anyone or thing they are associated with a bad name! If I was one of the parents who had a child in the same school, I would start to wonder why this guy is hanging around the school grounds so much! It's almost stalker like! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  11. Just remember, Huntr, eagles soar above all! Ed Mori NE-V-120 Eagle Patrol "I'm a talon you, we're the Eagles"
  12. Terrorist tactics, Merlyn. Maybe you should read the chronology in the 1st post of this thread. 15 complaints in less than a 3 year period! And Mr. Croft refused comment for the story! Guess his complaints speak for themselves. He doesn't want his daughter to get fliers to take home for a Bible club nor does he want the Scouts to be able to meet at the school. And he is constantly at the school looking for stuff! Doesn't he work? A teacher wearing an Abeline Christian shirt! Terrorist tactics! Makes no difference if this guy is an atheist or a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes! Yep this guy is all about freedoms as long as they agree with his point of view! And let's not forget the basis of all his tirades, the fiction novel 1984! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  13. Merlyn for religious freedom! That's funny!
  14. I'm gonna go out on a limb here & assume (hate doing that) the original plans submitted to the District Advancement Chair spelled out thee type of labor necessary to complete the project. If my assumption is correct, the SM is just getting huffy because the Troop wasn't involved. The Eagle candidate could have gotten the Troop involved helping with other tasks but chose not to. That's his option. To answer the question the thread title is asking - Those that can aid in successful completion of the project. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  15. And wouldn't that be classified as the school district endorsing a religion? Where's the ACLU? Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  16. The rallies and fliers stopped, and in some cases the songs were removed or altered, angering other parents. I read fine Merlyn. Terrorist tactics! Attack everything you don't like! As long as other clubs are allowed to send home fliers (and they probably are) the Bible Club should be allowed. But not allowing them, their right are being infringed upon. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  17. Sept. 18, 2003: Mr. Croft asks the school board to stop allowing the Cub Scouts to hold recruiting rallies during school because the group excludes atheists. He also complains about a flier his 8-year-old daughter received about Good News Bible Club meetings after school. Nothing violated here. Mr. Croft was just offended. There is no guarantee you won't be offended! It seems like this sad little man is crying wolf about everything & to shut him up, the school board is kowtowing to him! Typical radical behavior with typical results! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  18. And by trying to eliminate a Bible Club that meets at the school id violating the rights of those who want to attend the Bible Club. If someone tried the same thing with an Atheist Club, you would be screaming all the way to the Supreme Court, Merlyn!(This message has been edited by evmori)
  19. No Merlyn, I have no interest in bashing atheists. You want a level playing field. So do I. Only your level playing field would exclude anything dealing with God while mine would include atheists. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  20. There will be no hanging anyone upside down! My gosh, someone might fall & might get hurt & we don't want someone to sue us! Gosh no! Heck, we shouldn't even be letting the kids out of the house!! They might get hurt!! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  21. grayray, I knew that. Been camping at Heritage for over 20 years! Thanks. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  22. And what other clubs were promoted during morning announcements & by signs in front of the school? We don't know because this pitiful little man chose to single out those he didn't like. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  23. A similar thing happened in my Troop. A young adult who I have known since he joined Scouts committed suicide. The difference is all the Scouts in the Troop knew him & his parents. His mom was the CC & his dad an ASM & his two brothers were in the Troops. I was responsible for getting mom & dad involved when I was a CM! There is no easy way to deal with this. I still think about this Scout & it makes me angry he is no longer here! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  24. Yeah I know Lisa, but look at what Mr. Croft has complained about! He also complains about a flier his 8-year-old daughter received about Good News Bible Club meetings after school. The man has based hie beliefs on the fiction novel 1984! Total joke! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  25. Freedom of religion. Merlyn, not from. No right are violated. Mr. Croft's daughter cried! Too bad! That's what I would tell my kid if the same thing happened to them! And is there any proof these things actually happened or are the kids just using them as a ploy to get their own way? Hmm....... When someone complains a Bible Club can't meet at a public school but says nothing about the KKK meeting there, the Bible Club's rights are being trampled. yet I'm sure you don't see it that way Merlyn! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
