  1. Let''s see. The fire department is your COR. THe project benefits your COR. Just because your unit will get to use it doesn''t make it a less worthy project. I see no gray areas. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  2. I know of nothing that says it has to be just one POR. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  3. I would simply thank them for their interest in your Troop but tell them you were not accepting their membership. I would 1st talk to your COR & get their backing. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  4. No OGE. I will not admit to something I don''t do.
  5. Don''t have my prayer cap on at the current time. Yep Devil Worshipers would be OK.
  6. Dan, Actually a denominational neutral pray would be best, but if every public school day would start with a student led prayer of their choice, that would be fine. That should cover everyone. I might not like some of the prayers, but then other might not like prayers I do. And that''s OK! Freedom of religion & freedom of speech. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  7. As long as the school work fits the requirement, no problem! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  8. Sure we should be wearing the uniform. But in the great scheme of things, this, in my opinion, is the least important of the methods. I wear mine to all Troop meetings & wherever else it is appropriate. I encourage the Scouts to wear theirs. But I don''t lose any sleep if they don''t. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  9. I mean no offense by this ASM915, but your memory is incorrect. If I can pray to God, someone else can pray to Vishnu or their shoes if they like. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  10. Ya figured me out pack! Gee am I red faced! NOT There is no difference in my example. The ACLU & their ilk would like you to believe there is but in reality there isn''t. Sure private prayer is allowed in public schools. Private prayer is allowed everywhere! I was never talking about private prayer. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  11. Regardless of what the candidate thinks, he knows that a large segment of the voting population - large enough that he wants their votes - no longer sees the BSA as reflecting positive moral values. Not true. The BSA''s moral values & his moral values, or lack of them, aren''t the same. Makes no difference is they are positive or not! And I wouldn''t say it''s a large section of the population. But a section that he can spin a message to to get their vote! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  12. Really makes no difference why, Venividi. Being offended by what someone says is not protected by anything. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  13. No difference. Hair splitting. Nothing more.
  14. Bull! That''s nothing more than splitting hairs! A student can stand up in the lunch room of a public school & recite the 23rd Psalm & that is protected so is reciting it in the hall. The school provides the hall & lunch room & there is still a captive audience. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  15. And the difference between a student walking down the hall of a public school reciting the 23rd Psalm & a student reciting the 23rd Psalm over the PA system during morning announcements is ?????????? Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  16. So a student in a public school can walk down the hall reciting the 23rd Psalm for all to hear & will not be in violation of anything? I find that hard to believe. (edited for editing purposes) Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10(This message has been edited by evmori)
  17. Actually, Trevorum, I''m not missing the point. Richardson is stumping for votes & will probably say just about anything to get as many as he can! Tis the season! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  18. I think the issue all along has been public prayer. Bingo! Thank you OGE! The obvious impaired haven''t picked up on that. If the person making the public prayer before the school football game happens to be an Asatru and starts it with "Oh great and all-powerful Thor..." would you still support their right to public prayer? Yes I would. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  19. Address the situations I posted. Silent prayer is allowed anywhere!
  20. What does praying over lunch have to do with the examples I posted? I''ll post them again. Ah! So if a public high school student wants to say a prayer as part of their commencement speech they can do that? And if the the student announcer at a public high school football game wants to say a prayer over the loudspeaker before the start of the game they can? And if the public high school student presenting the morning announcements over the PA system to the entire school wants to close with a prayer, they can? Praying over lunch is a silent prayer. My examples are public prayers. You can pray silently anywhere! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  21. Another attack! I starting to believe there is no answer Merlyn can spin in his favor! {Edited cause I'm slow}(This message has been edited by evmori)
  22. OK. No answer to my question! Typical! Attack the person asking the question & call them stupid & that answers that!
  23. Maybe, Merlyn, you are just a poor teacher! All three examples are student led at a public high school event or in a public high school.
