  1. If the original project did in fact include the God stone, the city should have never signed off if they had a problem with it. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all (This message has been edited by a staff member.)
  2. And if the BSA did, they can because they are a private organization. What's your point Mr Stapler Person? Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  3. Nah! Merlyn would try to stop the singing of any song that has God in it!
  4. The uniform police will get ya!
  5. Schedule two a month. If both are needed, great! If not, no loss.
  6. Well, it wouldn't be called Christmas!
  7. If Christ wasn't born, we wouldn't be celebrating!
  8. There is no required number of hours for an Eagle Project! Not being big enough or not involving enough Scouts is not a valid excuse. Ask Eagle Advisor to show you where National states there are a required amount of hours or Scouts must be the only helpers. Anyone can help with an Eagle project. It really stinks when people in these positions want to impose their own rules! It isn't their advancement! Go to your council advancement chair & file a complaint. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  9. Just venting OGE in the spirit of the occasion.
  10. Requiring referrals is nothing more than bean counters trying to lower costs when all it does is keep them the same or higher.
  11. I would rather have a guy like Rudy who isn't afraid of kicking some butt when needed.
  12. Hillary has no desire to satisfy any of our wishes unless they are in line with hers. Obama ain't much better! I would never vote for either! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  13. The problem with health care is it's run by accountants & bean counters instead of health care providers. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  14. I took the old course (NE-V-120). Was it worth it? Absolutely! By far the best Scouting training I ever had. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  15. WOW! We go from WB to boring sermons to sex! Quite a wide variety! Christ preached quite a bit & many listened. And let's not forget the Apostles who did the same & many listened. I took the old course (NE-V-120). Loved it! Had a great time! Learned tons! If ya haven't taken WB, how do you know what it is about, GW? You seem to think one person waving their WB beads in your face represents the course. Wrong! If ya wanna know what you will learn at WB, take the course. That is the only true way you will know. But it seems you have already made up your mind to not try to improve your Scouting self. Too bad. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  16. It would also be nice if the people that count such things would come up with a way to count the underemployed such as a factory worker who goes from making $60,000 a year to making $12,000 a year at Wal-Mart. Could it be the $60,000 a year factory worker was over paid? Could it be the $12,000 a year Wal*Mart stock boy is paid at a rate commensurate with his job? I worked in a steel mill in the summer during high school & college. Made a ton of money. Worked hard, too. But I was way over paid for what I did. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  17. Make it until March 2008. That will cover a longer period & give the Scout a chance to redeem himself. This will also give you a longer time to evaluate the Scout. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  18. If you receive a statement that is well written, it will be easy to recognize. If the statement looks to you like not much thought was put into it, ask the scout about it, ask some open ended questions to get him to think and respond. Then ask him if he thinks he could do a better job if he added some of the additional things that he just talked about with you. And then let him. And if he responds with "I wrote what I wrote & that's all I'm writing." he's done! We need to remember who is advancing here. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  19. It can be one line, one paragraph or one volume. There is no required length & requiring one is adding to the requirements. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  20. Since it usually requires an extensive study and approval by either local, county or state authorities, I would say this would qualify for an Eagle project if the Scout had a couple years to see it through. Since he probably doesn't, I would concur with your decision. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  21. I dunno pack! There is no "test" to be a Christian. It's all about faith.
  22. "he thought that there might just be a sort of Christianity test, now, that candidates think they must pass. " Christianity test? What the heck does that mean? Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 A blessed Christmas to all
  23. local, Yeah! Dialing a rotary phone on a "party line"!
