  1. This is easy. Tell her that her services are no longer need, advise the CM & CC what you are doing & have them remove her from your charter. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  2. Meet age requirements. Be a boy who is 11 years old, or one who has completed the fifth grade or earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, but is not yet 18 years old. Minimum age if AOL earned - 10. Minimum age if AOL not earned 11. These are National rules. Don't think local councils can alter them. Does anyone know if they can? Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  3. If ya don't know how to camp, how are you going to be able to teach it to someone else? By taking an 8 hour catch-all course? I doubt it! You ain't putting up my dining fly! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  4. If the rules are to be changed it must come from National. A unit doesn't have the authority to change these rules. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  5. Get this guy a copy of Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin!
  6. No where does it say one has to be AOL in order to cross over. They are crossing over from Cubs to Scouts. If the boys is a registered Cub and is doing a $1 transfer over to Scouts, he's entitled to a cross over ceremony. I don't think anyone is saying he has to earn his AOL to crossover. The problem is if he doesn't he must wait until he ages out of Cub Scouts to crossover. He is entitled to a ceremony when he crosses over. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  7. When I was a Scoutmaster, I would do the same thing moxie did. Never heard from that parent again like that!
  8. Until training is required, this is absurd. Training should be required to be an adult leader! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  9. Background makes no difference. If this Webelos has decided not to try to earn his AOL, that is his decision. And as has been posted, decisions have consequences. If he doesn't qualify to be a Boy Scout, he has to wait. That's the choice he has made regardless of the reason. And those are the consequence's of the decision he has made. A life lesson has been learned. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  10. Ya make a great point Beav! I have always felt you should have to retake your test every time you renew your license! That would help weed out the bad drivers. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  11. Unfortunately, there are too many moms & dads like this!
  12. If you're gonna allow 2 you should allow 4 or only allow 1.
  13. CubScoutJo, I'm a Communications MB counselor, too, and I would consider both Scouts meeting the requirement. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  14. Trust me I know that Thats why I am trying to have him removed and the only one who can do that is the COR or DE Call him up. Tell him he is out & you will be mailing him a check for his registration. Call your DE & tell him to please remove him from your roster as he is no longer a member of your Pack and you have returned his registration fee. Done. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  15. Taking ownership of a Pack is not a bad thing, Ekmiranda, unless it ends up becoming your way or no way. I have always found that taking ownership of something makes it more important & I want to do a better job. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  16. Yeah if the woman says she feels threatened by her man! But what is threatening? Is he violent? Or does she just not want him around? Big difference! If this guy is a danger to the Scouts, he should not be around them. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  17. You can fire a volunteer! Get your CO involved & get their backing then call your council office & have him removed from your charter. You don't have to put up with his antics. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  18. I agree with FScouter! If he is not good for the kids, bye bye!
  19. I'm gonna guess these are the plastic wheels??? If so, get an Exacto knife & cut the tread part off. The sand 'em so the edge is smooth. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  20. why didn't he just plant them once we were in Iraq? W ain't that smart! I think he did it for dad since dad didn't get him before! Sorry Eamonn, but quoting causalities is so Vietnam era! Yes there were those who gave their lives. The question is was the reason worth their life? Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  21. Does it really make a difference why we toppled Saddam's reign of terror? The country is better without him. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  22. I agree Beav! # 2 is the way to go. When I was a SM & Scouts would come to me & ask about ideas for Eagle projects, I was happy to give them ideas and tell them if they want me to help them out, I will, but it's your project & you must take the lead. I will be there to assist & give guidance if necessary but I won't plan or lead your project. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  23. A bit of pedantry: The term "Scouts' Own" is now discouraged by National; we are to use "outdoor worship service" or "interfaith worship service." Gotta wonder why? And really, who cares what we call it! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  24. Maybe newspapers prefer not to write fluff pieces about discriminatory organizations. Yeah ya don't see too many articles about Powder Puff Mechanics! There should be more! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
  25. Calico is right on the money! Once a Scout earns Life, he can start planning his Eagle Project. If the Scout isn't ready it's a little late! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
