If a Scouts holds a POR for 6 months & does nothing & the SM doesn't give the Scout any direction, the POR requirement should be signed off.

If it's not a Pack or Den event, how can Webelos II's earn crdit for advancements? I don't think to advance as a Webelos, all the requirements must be done with the Den or Pack.

SR540Beaver makes some good points. The only glitch I see is if it's been over 6 months & the requirement isn't signed & you haven't told him what your expectations are, then it should be signed.

Oh, there's no end to non-scientific methods that claim to reveal information: praying, astrology, ESP, various religious scriptures, ouija boards, etc, etc. But I see no reason to think any of them are credible, just like reading goat entrails. Ever try praying? I don't buy into astrology or ESP or Ouija boards either. But what do they have to do with religion? And what religious scriptures are you referring to?

Well, if someone gets hurt, the BSA insurance will not kick in. And Webelos are not allowed to shoot 22's regardless of who they are camping with. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

No training is ever for naught, sometimes we need a refresher. We take driver tests every so often. We have had a poster or two who would state no training is better than poor training! I only took my drivers test when I was 16. No requirement to retake it although that wouldn't be a bad idea!

One hour a week? LOL! Yep one hour a week! That's all the time you have to yourself after Scouting!

Well excuse me! At one time it was thought to be 10,000 years old. That was based on the information & technology available at the time. We now think the earth is "around" 4.5 billion years old. That is based on the information & technology available now. In another 50 years, how does anyone know we won't think the earth is 1 trillion years old or 1 million years old based on the information & technology available? We don't. If you want an example of made-up stories, how about the creation of the earth. A lot of people think the earth is only about 10,000 years old, even though the only basis for this are bronze-age myths. What about the creation of earth? Oh you probably think it took longer that seven days. By your definition of a day, sure! But do you know what God's definition of a day is? I don't. Science is a method to find out what actually happens in the universe; religion are people making up stories to fill up their ignorance. And with all the knowledge scientists have, they still don't have all the answers. What stories are made up Merlyn? You shouldn't have to sell popcorn to be a QU. To me, that's blackmail. $50 for a camporee? WOW! We usually charge around $10/person!

Let's face reality here - the kids won't be losers in this because LA will still continue the program, just without the LFL label, the city won't lose anything because the benefits they get from LFL is going to be pretty minimal. The only folks losing out is LFL (and the BSA)as they lose the revenue those 175 or so cadets in the program, and the adult leader, are no longer paying to LFL. Sounds like a campaign promise. Considering the speed that governments operate, they might replace the program in 2-5 years at an exorbitant cost to the tax payers! What's it cost to the tax payers now? $0. The losers will be the kids! And there is a good chance the program never gets started! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
