What is appropriate? Removal from the unit. Call your council & have his name removed from your charter. Anything less is condoning the actions of this boy. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

US Court upholds 10 Commandments on public land
evmori replied to k9gold-scout's topic in Issues & Politics
As usual, Ed offers no examples of his claims. I don't have the time on inkling to attempt to gather all the post in these forums over all the years to back my claim up. There are too many! If the other members would like, they can search for themselves. And not posting any examples doesn't lessen the validity of my statement. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 -
Problem with Woodbadge Trained Leaders
evmori replied to DonM's topic in Wood Badge and adult leader training
Your ticket is your ticket, no one else's. Yeah it will require you to complete or do certain things in your unit. And those should be worked into the rest of the unit program. That's what I did. My ticket didn't become the Troop ticket. I worked it into the program we had in place. If the unit leadership allows WBer's to take over like you say, the problem isn't only with the WBer's, it's with the unit leadership, too. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10 -
US Court upholds 10 Commandments on public land

Sorry, first amendment rights aren't subject to your whims on what's proper or not. I had to pull myself off the floor after that line! I'm still crying from laughing so hard! You do the exact same thing, Merlyn! Pot meet kettle! -
Our district charges a $130 annual bus fee. Students may walk, bike, carpool, or take the bus. Just be in your places with bright shining faces when the bell rings. And every homeowner of every district pays school taxes regardless if they have kids in school or not. What's your point?

I would agree, Merlyn, but it only takes one! -
US Court upholds 10 Commandments on public land

This is from the 2nd link. Some students and parents had complained to the school board earlier this spring that the two previous Days of Silence at Mount Si had coerced participation and subjected to harassment students who wanted to stay neutral. Some teachers also chose to remain silent, drawing objections from students who said they were there to learn. Otherwise, last year's event occurred largely without incident. Administrators directed teachers to teach this year and said that students should respond if called upon in class. Seems like the teachers and administrators were involved to some extent. Inelastic demand is still demand. When you pay the price, you have "demanded" the product. When your tank is empty you demand it be filled. If you don't have an option, it isn't demand. It is need. There no currently available good alternatives to gasoline powered vehicles. So when my tank is empty, I need to put gas in it so my vehicle will run. I have to pay the going price. I have no option. Let us not forget that Exxon/Mobile made an enormous profit last year as did most oil companies! And we have how many new refineries?

>If it was, why does the retail price continue to rise? Because users are willing to pay the increased price. i.e., there is continued demand even at the higher price levels. Do users have a choice? The only choice is to park your vehicle & find another method to get around. For most of us, that isn't an option! Hence, they got us by the short hairs! The willingness to pay a higher price does not equal a higher demand.

Watch the data. It changes daily. And there are days where there are big swings. Supply & demand doesn't change that fast! Right now, prices are dropping ever so slowly but you probably won't see it at the pump. And the cash price is up, not down. Venividi, Not really. If it was, why does the retail price continue to rise?(This message has been edited by evmori)

Supply & demand does come into play but not as much as it should. It seems lately, the price is driven by what the market will accept.

Ed, NYMEX is a commodities exchange marketplace. Willing sellers and willing buyers go there to buy and sell commodities futures contracts. They basically gamble what the future price will be at some time in the future. NYMEX is simply an infrastructure, a building in which the buyers and seller make trades. The building does not set gasoline prices. If you want to claim that the price of gasoline has nothing to do with supply and demand, state your case with some facts. And the NYSE does exactly the same thing with stocks - sets the price. I already stated my facts, FScouter. You have chosen to ignore them. Maybe you should do a little research before you claim the facts I have presented are incorrect. You might learn something. talen, If the price was based on supply & demand, why does the price continue to go up? Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10(This message has been edited by evmori)

Prices are set by supply and demand, why else would big trucks and RV vehicles present such attractive prices right now compared to a year ago? Check out this site. http://www2.barchart.com/mktcom.asp?section=energies Pay attention to it for awhile. Notice the swings. Then explain how supply & demand is driving fuel prices.

If gas prices were driven by supply & demand, we would be paying about $1 less per gallon. NYMEX has no business setting gas prices! Make the oil companies a utility & cap the profits! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10
-
If you increase the supply of oil the price would go down, supply is the other side of the supply and demand equation. This would work if gas prices were determined by supply & demand. However, they are determined by NYMEX - New York Mercantile Exchange - the same folks that determine pork belly prices. If an Arab sheik farts, the price goes up! Supply & demand have nothing to do with gas prices. For an excellent site to track gas prices visit http://www.gasbuddy.com/ Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

Old can be mixed with new.

Hover parents are usual for of a detriment than help. Getting them to sign up as leaders isn't the answer. Look at what is happening in the other thread started by Anonomyous! A perfectly good unit is now gone! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

Good luck finding a new unit that actually wants to do Scouting!

Gotta agree with Lisa. Don't get in the middle of this! It isn't your place & without knowing it you could create a real mess! Just be there for the boy when he is there! Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

If he doesn't really want the job, he shouldn't run. What I would suggest is he have a sit down with his Scoutmaster & discuss this with him. Ed Mori 1 Peter 4:10

And I'm not gonna offer any advise. I see no point to this thread except validation of what you want validated! And I will not be party to that! Say thanks to a veteran today!

I love this! Avery & BDPT00 are very possible the same person! And yet ya'll are taking the troll bait!
-
How involved is your COR? Are they aware of what is going on? Does she have a boy in the unit?

BDPT00 & Avery are the same people! And appear to be trolls!
