I need Ideas for our service project.

Recommended Posts

My tiger den needs to do a service project for our den meetings place . I live in a co-op and we have our den meetings in the party room of my building, Thanks to the super of my building he allows us to use the space for free . He was a scout himself . I need some ideas . I thought of having the boys each make a thank you card , and each boy bring a fruit so we can make him a fruit basket. Please help thank you.

A fruit basket is a nice gift. Showing appreciation for the super is fine.

Now for a service project.  What needs done?  Weeds?  Trash?  Mulch?  Think of something within the abilities of the boys that they can understand to be of service to the co-op and its community.

Nobody's gonna judge your project, so anything goes. But, it is about time for spring planting, and I think boys still like dirt, so something along the lines of filling a spring planter or window box might be welcome. Ask the super if the boys can do something like that for your community.

Another fun thing since Easter is on its way could be hosting an egg decorating evening with some shut-ins.

Good advice above. Remember whatever you do make sure the boys handle only what they are allowed to. Check the tools guidelines, GTSS, and Sweet 16, This blog has the link to the age appropriate matrix.

It is a lot to check and a lot to learn, but it will keep you and the boys safe.

Thank You I didn't Know about any of that stuff . Going to look into it. He will let us plant stuff, he let  my Tiger den plant some brushes for our backyard jungle requirement .

Part of the requirement was to discuss potential service ideas. Had the boys sit around the table and we brainstormed ideas. I needed to steer the conversation a bit but we came up with a book drive. Printed up flyers; had the Wolfmen distribute to the parents in the Pack; sent out reminder e-mails. We received cases of books. Had the boys collect, collate, and carry out to my car, to be donated to a local library. It went pretty well.
