Re: Webelos Patrol Leaders

Jim,

My boys are First year Webelos, but we have already chosen our Patrol. We
are the Eagle Patrol. I still use the Denner system however and the boys
wear the Eagle Patrol Patch in the place of the Den # patch. I may
consider changing the "name" from Denner to Patrol Leader for next year
but right now they still haven't quite got the transition to Webelos down
yet. Once they get the Scout Law, Oath, etc, we'll move on to becoming a
"Patrol" and being more into the Boy Scout transition.

One problem I am having at the moment is getting _anything_ completed
toward pins. Our Pack does not meet during the Summer except for one
monthly activity, and to be honest, between vacations and family things,
they are usually sparsely attended. In September one of our Den Meetings
was taken up with a Pack Conservation lecture. In October one Den Meeting
was used for a field trip and the Pack Meeting was moved to October 23
with a cancelling of our Oct 30 meeting because Halloween is that night in
our area. In November we'll only have 2 den meetings because of
Thanksgiving. In December one den meeting is being used for a
neighborhood Carolling night, plus Christmas vacation, so...only one den
meeting in December also.

How am I ever going to get these boys their pins and Webelos Badge when I
only have 1-2 hours a month to work with them? This is getting very
frustrating for me.
Any advice???

Alicia
